I was just in a local shop that has a bunch of styles on sale -- this is where I bought my Quails and I am quite sure they are legit -- and they had a pile of the boxes stacked up. Very basic brown corrugated cardboard.</p> <p>And I agree that the shoes are definitely handmade, not refined, and likely to be rougher around the edges than other shoes.</p> <p>So glad these are likely real. (You'd need to get some written statement from the company stating that they don't sell thru Amazon). </p> <p>Then you'd call your credit card company and explain your situation. The nature of the shoes is that they look handmade and kind of beat up. (You can check out the Steve Madden website which has all the Freebird possibilities -- that is their aesthetic.)
