You look so cozy and warm and I'm glad you found each other! Here in So. Cal. we seldom get opportunities to bundle up. Nice to meet the coat!

If you get anywhere near as much wear out of this as I do out of mine it's a great investment x

The zip goes both ways, but there is nothing extra to protect me from the elements there. But it had no problem with the fierce wind that was blowing around the school when I picked up dd6. I can't zip in an extra layer but I won't need one either It is a Swedish brand by the way.

Perfect puffer coat for braving the elements, Heleen! Does it have a double zip?

Thank you for pointing that out Vildy. It may also be because I am holding my arms up so there is some weird pulling going on. Anyway looking better at the colour (it seemed to be a black coat), I prefer the black with my colouring so your short remark makes me so much happier with my choice!

I have a tan stormcoat with inner down quilting. It doesn't show that it's quilted inside or puffy inside. The brown jacket does show that but it could just be a trick of the flash, like when people's undies show up in celeb photos.

Today I tried on lots of coats and this is the last one and the best one, the 8848 Utah Down Coat in picture 1. Most of them were jacket-type.

Some of them had a hint of a waist, but none of them gave me a waist like this one. It also is really windproof, it is stormy outside and I was happy to stand in the hard winds where other moms took shelter from the school building.

I also wore another coat of a similar shape, the The North Face Suzanne Triclimate in picture 2, but it was a little longer and less puffy, it was a down inner coat with a flat outer coat which makes it more versatile, but I had a hard time reaching for the zipper. In hindsight I would like to go back and try it on again, but really I am going to be so annoyed by the low zipper.
