It is actually a straight, even slightly a-line style but not a-line enough for my thighs! It’s always my problem area. It’s not uncomfortable but I’m used to more ease in my clothing. My sewing skills are basic, but I think I know what you mean. It’s the hip and thigh area that’s the problem for me. The waist fits fine. If it doesn’t stretch enough I plan to open up the side seam and add a strip of fabric down the side (probably both sides for symmetry). Maybe in black velvet.
