The place I went to had them on sale, so they were not as expensive as they are on Zappos. For me, comfy shoes are worth every penny.

I hope they work out for you. They are cute and have that strappy element you were looking for. They were a bit pricy on Zappos, but hey, if they fit and you wear them all sumer...it's worth every penny.

Duct taping the bottoms to wear outside is a great idea--just be careful. That could make them very slippery.

Ha, it's not creepy at all Nicole. It's actually very sweet and I do appreciate it. My own mother thinks I'm using my painful feet as an excuse to buy more shoes, so I'm glad SOMEONE understands!

Well, today I went brick-and-mortar store and found some shoes that I think will make everyone here cringe, but I swear they are actually pretty comfortable (at least in the limited amount of time that I have worn them):

http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/2.....18898.html

If you look at the ratings, it says most people found them wider than marked. The key to these is that 1) the tender spot on my troublesome pinky toe falls right in between the front straps, so there isn't any rubbing or pinching...and b) I was able to go up a size without having to worry about the back slipping off. All I have to do is add an extra hole. They do look a bit big, but only if someone is paying a disturbing amount of attention to my feet.

I am 90% sure I'm going to keep them. I have only worn them around the house though, so I'm afraid the slingback might rub after a while. I did, however, arm myself with some moleskins which I plan to cut into thin strips and apply to the insides if necessary. The front straps do not hurt or dig at all. I am seriously thinking of duct taping the soles and going for a walk in the mall to see how they work out. But the padding is actually quite good and I have flat feet so the lack of arch support is fine.

Before that I tried on some thong sandals at DSW. My pinky toe was hanging off the edge of the shoe. It was really very unattractive, for lack of a better word. In all fairness they were Sofft sandals and a medium width, so maybe a wide would have helped. But I wasn't really feeling them anyway. They looked too flipfloppy.

Funny you should mention stretchy fabric. I was just thinking today about those Steve Madden slides everyone had circa 2001. They were soooo comfortable.

http://bp3.blogger.com/_tVDPtb.....nt_300.jpg

Apparently they are still sold but the heel seems to have gotten bigger and I wish they came in other colors.

I don't think 2 different sizes would help. Like I said, I have the Me Too shoes in a 6 and a 6.5. The 6.5 fits both of my feet superbly in the toe box, but there's a huge amount of space in the back. The 6's are too tight in the toe area, but at least they stay on my foot. I keep meaning to try getting them stretched but I always leave them at home. Next week for sure. All I can say is it makes me sad for anyone who has to use that website.

I have one pair of 6WW shoes which have a good 2 fingers worth of space in the back. The problem with wide or WW shoes is that they are wide all over...not just at the toe box. So they usually just fall off in the back. I'm thinking of ordering the Naturalizer Voss that Angie recommended because it's a mary jane style and maybe the strap will keep it more secure. But in my experience Naturalizer always runs narrow.

I have been on designershoes.com and it is fussy foot central. Footsmart is also for fussy feet but it has some of the most god awful hideous shoes on the planet (Crocs, for example).

Anyway, I'm going to live in my Ecco sandals this weekend and hopefully they'll get a pass. They look sooo cute with my favorite skirt that I posted, so I'm already getting attached to them. It's like getting married. Really. Gosh that was a long post.

Wellies!

Hey Maya...I am on a personal mission to find you shoes for your poor feet. I know that may sound a little creepy, but I feel so sorry for you and your shoe situation. I can't imagine not being able to just throw on any shoe and be happy. Do you have at least one pair of shoes that you like and are comfortable? Do you think a shoe that is completely open where your troublesome pinky toe is would solve the problem? Have you tried shoe that are made out of stretchy fabric? Do you think if you had two different size shoes, you would be happy? (I found a website that you can register to find someone with the opposite size difference as you). Or maybe to buy two pairs of the same shoe would be worth it to have a pair of shoes that you love. Have you searched by googling women size 6 WW shoe? I did and this is one of the sites that had a lot to choose from...

Thanks for the tip Maya, funny thing is I went out and found just what you are talking about. I was just walking around in my new shoes with these heel grip in. I think they are going to do the trick. My heel does not slip at all. These shoes are probably a tad too wide on the sides, but I could walk in these for hours. I think I'm going to keep them and wear them to Chicago. I hope it doesn't rain while I'm there. I don't know what I would wear for shoes if it rains. That's a whole new post.

Shannon, go to a drug store and look for Dr Scholl's heel grips (I think that's what they're called...it's something like that). They're just 2 pieces of a grayish cushiony material that prevents the shoe from grabbing the heel and causing blisters and keeps it from slipping off. I don't think I could wear shoes without them. I have them in almost all my shoes. But be warned that they are permanent so try them out first without exposing the adhesive backing.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem with Me Too shoes. I have 2 pairs of the exact same shoes in different sizes because I can't decide whether I dislike having the shoe slip off or having my toes squished more...but I adore them so much I just put up with it.

Hi Shannon, I use a product like this:
http://www.drugstore.com/produ.....PLST-0-CAT

You just stick them on on your shoes. They do tend to push your foot slightly forward tough.

Well, I received my shoes. They are very cute but I'm not sure they are going to work for me. They are very cushy and comfy. They are very snug in the toe area, but the leather is soft, so no pinching, still wearable. The heel though slips bad! I tried the half size smaller to see if maybe they would not slip, but still did. I want these to work so I can take them to Chicago next week. Is there something I can put in the back of the shoe to prevent slipping?

I did just order them in two different sizes, both Marigold. I can't wait to get them. I do have narrow feet and sometimes with sandals and peep toes I can go down a half size because I have trouble with shoes being too wide.

I have a pair of Me Too boots and they are not narrow. They are comfortable and well made. My feet are a little bit wide, but not to the point whe I have difficulty finding shoes to fit.

Those shoes are adorable...will you be getting them in Marigold? They look super comfy because of the wedge heel, small platform, and thick cushy straps. Maya, you might want to try a shoe like that for your quest for a sandal to wear with skirts and dresses. It might be more comfortable than you'd expect.

6pm has the exact same shoes Zappos had last season. My only complaint about 6pm is that the website is annoying to use.

Zappos always upgrades to free shipping. They changed their policy because they found out that customers liked it more when they were "surprised" by the free shipping.

As for the shoes, they look great for people with normal feet (which is sadly not me). Me Too always has a lot of cushioning.

I did hear about Zappos' new policy, and I'm disappointed in that policy since Zappos does tend to be more expensive than many other sites.

They also did away with free guaranteed overnight shipping. Now it will *probably* arrive in a day or two, but they can only tell you it will arrive in 4-5 days, and then you may or may not be "upgraded" to free overnight shipping. Not sure what to think about this.

Does anybody own this shoe?

http://www.endless.com/Me%20To.....mPage=cart

I think I want to order it, but have never worn a Me Too shoe before. How is the quality? Are they comfy?

I love this endless.com. They have much better prices than Zappos. Did you know that Zappos has done away with the 110% price guarantee? They now have 6pm.com for discounted shoes. That site does not have great shoes though. So Zappos will be the last place I go to online for shoes. Their prices are outrageous compared to others.
