Not sure on this one. I think I would like to see the pieces worn separately.

Thanks all for your feedback! So there seems to be a consensus on wearing the top with a different bottom. I will play with it.

Like Angie and her blogpost said. The jacket will do a much better and current looking job with nonmatching bottoms. BTW it's a great piece:-)

I adore the jacket but agree that it may look best worn with something other than the matching pants. The length, shape etc look really good on you.

Love the black and white and the daintiness of the white top with the strong architectural lines of the kimono. I'd almost like the kimono better with nonblack bottoms or a change in textures like black leather, velvet, satin or denim.

I vote mix up the kimono top! It can work marvelously with jeans and heels. I find it all a little harsh with the matching trousers on your very petite frame, Krish. My suggestion is to soften the look with faded denim, soft fabrications as layering pieces, and dainty metallic footwear.

My thoughts on the pants were the same as Suz's.

I rather like the way you have styled it with the white shirt and sandals in 3-5.

I hope I'm not offending you but you asked for honest opinions. I would like to see the jacket with different pants because with these pants & flat shoes, particularly pic number 2, it looks a little bit like a karate uniform.

What Suz says about the hem! I really like it with the white top and shoes - not overwhelming at all. Looks great actually!

Oh - amazing! We are twins!! Your suit looks lovely. I think you must definitely wear the top. I don't think it overwhelms you. Perhaps the sleeves are a touch long, but I do not feel qualified to judge that. I hope Angie will chime in.

Same for the trousers. I'lll bet you could find another tailor who would try to unstitch the hem. What is to lose? If it doesn't work (i.e. there's a line) you can always put it back as it was, no? Unless the fabric would tear, of course.

You could also do as I did and try styling the jacket with other pants and skirts/ dresses.

Actually you won't believe it, but I was trying this on this morning before I even saw Angie's post! So I am encouraged to not toss this outfit this summer. I got it a few years back in France, but have almost not worn it in the passed two summers.
This suit has two main issues:
1) The kimono is very overpowering on me. I think it can still work, in a funky way, but requires some heel. Unfortunately...
2) I had the hem done for a flat shoe and now the seamstress won't undo it even though there is enough fabric because she says there will be a permanent fold showing (from the present hem). :(

Pic 1: with flat sandals, open

Pic 2: same, closed

Pics 3-5: with a little heel.

Thank you for your honest opinion!
