Frustrating I can imagine. But also an opportunity for you to add new fun items to your wardrobe. You totally enjoy the hunt, Khris

Inge- with fit being so wonky because of the brace, I am waiting until I can actually try things on.
Claire- I think it's February .

Good idea Khris. You can't wear those other things anyway, so having them out of sight will help you to concentrate on what you *do* need, instead of creating a false sense that you have plenty of clothes to wear. When do the summer clothes come out? I don't even know since I'm a long time serial thrifter, lol!

Putting things in the "holding zone" sounds like a good plan, Khris. It frees up space in your closet and in your head.
I know it's hard at the moment to find the right fit with your brace, but it's great that you are also seeing it as an opportunity to build a new, super well curated wardrobe.

I hope spring collections will be available soon, so you can get your shop on:-)
(in the meantime: do you think eBay could be an option, perhaps for items you know have worked for you in the past?)

Chin up! I have found the quarantine method to be psychologically freeing. Since mid-2008, my own style has been constrained by being either pregnant or nursing, and I maintain a box of tops that I dream of wearing some day...when the "girls" don't need to be making milk anymore! Just the other day I opened up the box and it made me happy again.

Not so much disciplined as realistic. I literally can't fit into my dresses or tops at the moment. It's disappointing, though- as soon as spring stuff hits the racks I need to be on the hunt. Sometimes it is 90 degrees by March here.
I wish it was all things that I love left, rather than just what fits and can camouflage my brace. But at least it's a start.

"Only one summer dress and two sleeveless tops are left- and summer is my dominant season! "

oh wow, are you ever disciplined.

I'm tired of looking into my closet only to see items that are too small, or can't be worn with my back brace. I'm not ready to get rid of anything yet, since I am hoping both to loose weight and not have to wear the brace at some point- but it needs to be boxed up and put away for now. I'm kind of excited to get back to a small functioning closet, but I'm also terrified of the huge holes. Only one summer dress and two sleeveless tops are left- and summer is my dominant season!
