There is a slight padded shoulder in this coat, but it doesn't really extend past my natural shoulder by much more than any other coat that allows for layers. I keep looking at the photos for what it is you are seeing, and I don't really see it. I will have to play with some layering with this coat, maybe tomorrow, and report back. </p> <p>More feedback is of course welcome! I know there are lots of mixed media coats out there right now. I don't want to get into ultra expensive territory for something like this though. I purged two old short wool coats (one black, one brown) last winter.</p> <p>ETA: pic 3 is the Trina Turk coat -- I just realized that I'm standing further from the mirror in the TT pic, and closer in the McGinn pic, which may be contributing to the impression of a larger shoulder. </p>
