Quick PSA: all the Urban Decay Revolution lipsticks (Sheer Revolution, Matte Revolution, Revolution) are half-off direct from them and at Ulta, but only until the end of today. The lady at Ulta told me that they're redesigning the packaging and coming out with additional colors soon, so they're selling off all the old stock.

Great reviews. Thank you. I have been using the same products for a long time and am very happy with them. I do like to read what other people use just in case I decide to try something else.

I tried the Sephora inner rim gel eye liner made for the waterline. I'll be getting it again, I think, because it's quick and easy to use, lasts better than the maybelline one I was using, and doesn't flake.

Let's see...came home with some drugstore stuff:

Trying a Maybelline brow pencil. Has a brush in the end which I like. All-in-one tool.

Also trying this L'Oreal brow duet - two colours for doing your brows. Am not sure how exciting this is.

Got some new eyeliners - L'Oreal brown dial up (smudgy, but I like the dial up part), Revlon green color stay (which does stay good), and Kleancolor gold (the gold doesn't come off the pencil tip that good, and if you try to 'warm up' the tip to improve the colour transfer...the tip just bends off).

Got a new Avalon vitamin C wash. I like it a lot. Wash my hands with it too. I think it improves the appearance of my skin.

Also got a new L'Oreal Miss Manga mascara. This is probably my fave mascara ever. I don't think I've ever bought the same twice.

Last but not least..Still trying the Neutrogena healthy skin anti-aging perfector. Not sure if I have good colour match - or if I could get one in this product - but I think my skin does look better after using it.

Ledonna, I keep meaning to try coconut oil as a hair treatment, but haven't gotten around to it yet (it's more of a leisurely bath thing than a quick shower thing). One website recommended coconut oil followed by epsom salts as a scalp scrub. Man, I could make a mess of my bathroom with all that!

What a very thorough and I depth review. Thank you for sharing. I use Shea butter. It comes from Africa but more of the chain stores are caring it. You can use it for your hair and skin. Just a bit will go a long way.

I also use coconut oil it keeps my skin very soft.

Laura, thanks for this thread. I'm glad I have something to share this time 'round.

Aveeno Ultra-calming sensitive skin nourishing night cream. After using the Aveeno u-c-s-s daily moisturizer (SPF 15) and liking it, I picked up the night cream marked down half price at my grocery store pharmacy.
LOVE! I believe it is one of the first products that I've tried that has actually reduced the redness of my Rosecea plagued complexion.

The pump on the daily moisturizer doesn't pump anymore, so I have to open it up to decant, and it is still half full, but it is the pm cream in a jar that has me excited!

I'm off the Aveda Madder root shampoo. Adore the smell, but it isn't going to make me a redhead again, and I felt it was drying out my hair. After a month back on Tresemme Luxurious Moisture shampoo and conditioner, by hair is much softer (vs straw-like).

I'm a huge fan of Sebastien Potion #9, but have been experimenting with L'Oreal Studio Silk&Gloss Curling Spritz. 5 or 6 sprays results in smooth curls that are soft to the touch.

Garnier Ombrelle Sport - an SPF 30 pump spray. Fragrance free! Pump, works great, and no burn on the back of my neck despite 5-6 hour days in the garden.

Laura, thank you for introducing me to many new-to-me products. I use an Argan oil from Whole Foods on face, feet, hands, elbows and even hair when it looks a bit frizzy. It seems to be lighter than some oils like olive.

Here are the new products I've tried. Add your own!

BareMinerals Complexion Rescue hydrating gel cream (Sephora)
Great texture, horrible color on me. Returned. This only uses titanium dioxide as sunscreen so it’d be a good tinted moisturizer option for anyone who’s sensitive to chemical sunscreens.

Laneige water bank serum (Target)
This is the morning equivalent of the water bank mask I mentioned in my last set of reviews, and so far I really like it. I put it on after washing my face, before makeup, and it absorbs nicely and doesn’t interfere with my foundation.

Josie Maran argan oil light (Sephora)
Only tried a sample packet of this, but after hearing so much about it for years I was a little underwhelmed. It was very heavy-feeling, especially since it was the lighter formulation. Smelled good, moisturizing, but took a long time to soak in.

Body Shop ginger scalp care shampoo
So The Body Shop had a sale in April and I thought I’d try a couple things; I haven’t bought anything from them in a long time. The ginger shampoo is supposed to help with scalp itch and dryness. I don’t get flakes enough to justify a full-on dandruff shampoo but my scalp does get itchy sometimes. This is a nice clarifying shampoo that also doesn’t super-strip your hair like most dandruff shampoos do. It smells very strongly of ginger, which could be good or bad depending on your preferences - I kinda felt like a Chinese stir-fry.

Body Shop vitamin E overnight serum-in-oil
This stuff is really nice. It comes in an opaque dropper bottle and is a light-feeling face oil. It absorbed quickly on me and did seem to help with dry patches as well as general moisturizing. Despite the name, I’d use this under makeup in the AM if I really needed to amp up the moisturizing for a day, as well as in the evenings. The only downside for me, and it’s a big one, is the smell: I’m not sure what it is, maybe roses? But it reminds me of cold cream and elderly grandmas, and it’s strong. I felt like I was preparing myself to go into the nursing home the next day, and it was hard to ignore.

Garnier Fructis Style Marvelous Oil Deep Nourish 5-Action Hair Elixir (drugstore)
This was an impulse buy. I’ve always had good luck with Garnier products, but I’m not quite sure how to use this. It can be used as a pretreatment before washing, a leave-in conditioner on wet hair, or a smoothing treatment on dry hair. So far I’ve tried a few options and like it most used on my ends before shampoo, but honestly I could use almost anything for that, including straight olive or coconut oil. So not a disappointment but not something I've really found a role for yet.
