Thanks ladies, I think you are right, no calf length! Zoiechic: the fit on me is as in pics. Delurked & Nebraskim: will practice on the non-stumblin'. kkards: short tops/jackets will do the trick. This piece is an early spring wearable. Look forward to that!

I see the length in the site photos as being very stylish, imagining it at calf length, not as stylish. Like Nebraskim said, the loss of sweep makes it a different skirt.

I'm really liking the idea of a skirt like this with the sneakers and super casual tops. So you've already got me planning my summer wardrobe purchases!

I wore this length of skirt for years, long after it went out of style the first time around, and then switched over (late) to the knee-length trend, and will probably go back to the longer length again (I'm now regretting thrifting my longer skirts a couple years ago). Define "stumbling" over the length -- did you actually get your feet caught up in it? It takes a while to learn to sweep the entire amount of fabric away from you when you start to stand up. One thing to beware is rolling over the fabric if you are sitting in a wheeled office chair. A lawyer friend did that in court and almost fell when she tried to stand. I think this length is flattering and I'm not so sure that shortening to calf length will be as nice as you might loose the sweep of it and it may fall at an unflattering position.

I like the longer length. It depends on how much you are stumbling over it.

Inspired by Angie's blog I bought BR's ankle-long preppy navy skirt in soft 100% polyester with underskirt. See pics. Question: would it be better/more practical to have it altered to calf-length? I did stumble over the long lenght sitting down when standing up. Otherwise the fit is fabulous on me wearing lightgrey/white leather Lacoste sneakers. What do you think?
