It's so hard when you know a pet isn't well but you're not sure exactly why.&nbsp;<br /><br />One of my cats years ago, who was otherwise a meek, sweet little creature, was a champion mouser. One time she caught a chipmunk and brought it into our apartment and dropped it, still very much alive and mobile,&nbsp;before my roommate and I could stop her. Imagine the two of us chasing around a) the chipmunk, and b) the cat trying to re-catch the chipmunk! Max is a champion mouser, too. He sometimes brings them live into the house (ugh!!) and chases them. And although he was never a stray, he is simply one of those cats you cannot keep indoors. He was nearly decapitated a couple of times by the door when we were trying to keep him in. Anyway, she was quite the independent cat for those 19 years - not to mention an excellent mouser a few times when they got in the house through a small hole we finally found. One time I woke up because she was making this odd sound at the foot of the bed. I knew almost immediately she had a mouse in her mouth - and she did!&nbsp; It was hilarious (after the fact) because she took off once I saw her and then I had to try to chase her outside to let it go. She of course ran UPstairs first, mouse in mouth,&nbsp;but never let it go until I got her to go downstairs and out the door.
