Thanks TG.

I think I may have found a contender

https://www.ezibuy.com/shop/au...../p/137598# (the navy/ white option)

So hard to order online though - I don't really know my sizing and returns and delivery get expensive in Australia, and there are delays in freight at the moment too.

Oh yes, this is gorgeous! What about with a wedge? I definitely think this would be a flattering look.

Hi Rachy, yes that particular one is angled, and it does look good, but she wore heaps of others that weren't angled.
Similarly the polka dots were not a defining part of the look either Angie, though I know they appeal to you,
Midi length is, though.
Some more pictures here. I wouldn't do the plunging necklines!

Her one dress has an angled hem... I think that’s a feature that could make such a dress work for you. I love it and think you should keep an eye out

Hi Phoebe, narrow belts look terrible on me and I hate the feel of belts worn high. I don't think my wider belt would fit at the moment and I have some winter waist widening going on so belted look is not the most flattering at the moment.. And yet it appeals!
Becky, yes it's the length. I have a shorter floaty patterned long sleeve dress, but I am hankering after a longer one!
Unfrumped, good questions to ask.
Sal, yes. BTW your longer red patterned shirt waist dress is similar to what I am thinking of.

I love that dress. I think it may look even better with a smaller bust and flats - sandals or sneakers. Boots with a medium heel in cooler weather too.

I love the dresses too. I think it is just getting the length and waist right and you can definitely wear these!! The thickness of the belt can make them work or not too (and whether it is the same colour or a contrasting colour as the dress!)

Inspiration is great! Yes we might make modifications to make this gs work for ourselves.
I am trying to get better at looking for inspiration pics and recognizing the core of what attracts me- maybe it’s colors, maybe proportions, maybe just one piece that I have already , and not getting put off by what about it WON’T work. I want to do more outfit creation this way.
So good for you!

Wow! I love that! Is the length what you find most appealing? I think you can definitely figure out a way to do it with more comfortable shoes.

I don't know why it wouldn't be a good choice for you? Maybe with a narrower belt set a little high if you want to wear flats.

One if my isolation treats this year was going back to watching Masterchef Australia, which is quite a heart-warming show. This year there were all new judges and I loved them, especially Melissa Leong. Her fashion has made quite a hit https://www.google.com/amp/s/w.....tatus.html and I got rather keen on the idea of getting a long patterned belted dress!
It's possibly not a great choice for me, as Melissa is bustier and wears them with sky high heels (which I was relieved to hear she often takes off when not filming!) that I wouldn't wear, but I just thought I'd share the inspiration anyway
