Well, in this case, you have to switch your mascara. It is good to use waterproof mascaras to avoid these type of troubles.

I'm adamant abt eye makeup and Im a glasses wearer.
Curling your lashes and/or sweeping them to the side while applying is paramount. I often skip curling as I've learned that I can create that effect in the way I apply.
Apply wand to the base of your lash line and push up as you wiggle. The mascara will hold the lashes in place. It's a worthy technique to master as its time saving and helps "waken" the eye.
I also use waterproof mascara.

It happens more with my sunglasses. I'm sure it's the design. In any case, I use a combination of waterproof mascara and portable pre moistened glasses wipes.

I had that problem when I wore glasses. I had my eyes lasered in 2000. I usually wore contact lenses but when I did wear glasses the mascara would be all over the glasses. I did all of the above. Sorry to not be very helpful.

I have this problem and the eyelash curler comes the closest to a solution but still is not a complete solution. I've stopped wearing mascara. Be sure that your mascara is not the "lengthening" type. It helps to only apply mascara at the base of the lashes, not to the ends, if you really want to wear it.

It depends a bit on facial shape/ bridge shape and also the thickness of your lenses, as well as how your lashes are placed.

My bridge is quite flat so glasses are close to my face, and even extra thin lenses were thick because my prescription was so high.

Bella: hmm, I'll try waiting but it happened even after I wiped off my glasses about 20 minutes later, so seems like it's just very streaky.

Diana: thanks for the rec!

Suzanne: I don't use an eyelash curler so perhaps that's something to try! Thanks also for the sweeping tip.

Suz, Una, and JAileen: nice to see that I'm not the only one with this problem! However, Angie wears mascara every day and also wears specs every day, so it must be possible :-)

I don't wear mascara for this reason. My eyelashes already hit my lens - so annoying.

It always happened to me with specs, despite short lashes, waterproof mascaras, and various other tricks. I just got used to cleaning my glasses a lot.

Yes: eyelash curler! BEFORE you put on the mascara.

This saved my makeup life. I, in my old age, only figured this out about 5 or 6 years ago. In my defense, I wore makeup a few years earlier in life than when I got my first glasses, so I didn't "need" to know about curlers right away. When I learned of them, they kind of freaked me out. After a bit of practice, I found 'em indispensable.

Another tip: sweep lashes OUT to the sides when you do put on the mascara. This gives a nice look but also reduces further the chance of them hitting glasses. Of course, nothing is 100% defense, but these have helped me a lot.

This is one reason why I only wear waterproof mascara (the other reason is that since I have almost no bottom lashes to speak of, all non-waterproof mascaras transfer to my lower eyelids when I blink).

(Sorry about the giant find...)

Generally when I wear makeup it's been on days when I'm also wearing contact lenses. But in the past few weeks I've occasionally tried to wear some eye makeup on normal days (when I also wear my glasses). Every time I've worn mascara with my glasses, the mascara ends up streaking on my glasses--any suggestions on what to do about this? I'm not even applying it super heavily.
