Well, she was in her all-black Sephora uniform with her apron full of brushes and tools, so not exactly a good reference. I wouldn't be surprised though. Her makeup was really nice. Not shiny, not matte. Just luminous and dewy. I felt like I was in good hands

Well, I was born in NY... uh oh! Maybe we were separated at birth? :)

Take a picture next time you see her! I am super curious. I hope she was well dressed!

If I were you, I'd have some questions for my parents Not to say you are not a unique snowflake...

I should have taken a piccie. Whenever people say they saw someone who looks like me, I always wish I knew what that person looked like so I would have an idea of how I am perceived. But she was very pretty, trust me!

Haha... I wish you had snapped a picture of her. Hearing that I have a "twin" makes me nervous. I like to think that I have a unique face. ;)

I'm glad that she gave you such great service! Go M names!

What a fab experience Maya!

Btw, I have a very nice liquid bronzer that I add just a tiny bit of to my foundation in the summer. It works great and I do not have to use millions of products.

I was at Sephora today to return the Tarte tinted moisturizer that ended up being too dark for me. While I was there, I went over to peruse the BE section to check out one of their new shades, but couldn't tell if it was right for me, so I asked for help. The girl who helped me looked EXACTLY like Marianna. Tall, blonde, and gorgeous Same haircut and everything. I instantly felt more comfortable!

When I approached her for help, she grabbed not one but four samples to try on me. She swabbed some on and looked at me in all kinds of different light. She then pushed all of the tans out of the way and we were left with medium beige and golden medium. She did half my face in one shade and half of it in the other, then concluded that the medium beige was too pink and golden medium was the better match. She then tried a light, oil-absorbing bronzer that just added a subtle glow. She said tans are way too dark for me, while mediums are just a hair too light. The bronzer would help deepen the slightly lighter medium shades so they work better with my skin tone. In winter she said I could probably ditch the bronzer since my skin will be slightly paler, or I could use it to add color if I wanted to.

Hallelujah! Someone who understood my coloring! YAY!

I told her I wasn't sure about the bronzer just yet, and she said that was fine. She even told me that since I work in the area, I could pop in whenever I wanted and just apply it from the sample stash and see how I like it (she could not give me a sample since it is a pressed powder).

She then signed me up for the rewards program, gave me my birthday gift even though it's not my birthday, and showed me a good brush to use for my new makeup.

It was by far the best experience I have had. Her name is Molly too. Something about girls with M names is just fab I am totally willing to brave the Herald Square crowds to go back to her for advice. I think the fact that she reminded me so much of Marianna was a good omen or something.
