I like it for a change-up once in awhile - but in my experience it does not last as long as regular nail polish. Essie makes a matte topcoat that you can paint over any nail polish to make it matte so you don't have to commit to buying a whole bottle of matte. I use it to paint one finger on each hand with the matted topcoat - makes a fun visual to have a mix of glossy and matte on your hands. One of the advantages to matte Polish is that it dries really fast. I like to use it for a RATE "look. It just looks OLD to me. In the link, it looks better with the gloss tips because it helps it look intentional.</p> <p>I don't like the bumpy effect in the first photo in the second link, but shiny gemstones could work for a special occasion. I wouldn't wear it for everyday, though, as 3-D nails typically do not work well with everyday life.
