That being said, I want my toes to look finished when exposed. Since my feet are a warmer color than my hands, I usually paint the toes gold: A tiny bit of contrast without drawing attention. Lately on my fingernails I have been using that Londontown Kur nail veil because it is easy, quick and doesn't show damage too quickly. High Five regarding darker colours on the toes, and lighter on the fingers, when doing both. I wonder why? Maybe seems more grounded.... I also prefer straight silhouettes in clothes, which I read somewhere that it is because of the grounding effect (instead of floaty). Jaileen I too had purple toe nails from bruising (shoes that do not fit well in winter I suspect). Fortunately mine also grew out and now I am even more picky about the height of the toe box and it seems to be working as the bruising has not reoccurred. High Five to those of you who do your own painting and maintenance, I do too. The salon lady actually damaged my toe nails! Using a machine meant for gel nails. I miss my excellent manicurist in SA. Typically I use nudes, pale pinks or clear. I don't like shellac and can't stand even a small chip in colour so I have given up on fingernail colour except for a rare treat. My toes I will sometimes do in a classic red or burgundy, bright white, or navy. I'm as boring with my nails as my wardrobe lol! Sometimes I wear clear nail polish, but other than that - natural looking nails suit me more. I also keep my nails short because I like the look of short nails! Plus I just like it!  Toes and fingers are never matching - but chosen to work together.  Black toes/nude pink fingers; red fingers, nude taupe/pink toes; dark brown toes/cafe au lait fingers;  khaki green toes/teal fingers ( a fav summer holidays combo ) ; orange fingers/teal toes (another summer holiday fav) . A recent combo I wore was chrome nude fingers and black toes which I loved but I've had enough of black toes for a few months now.  It's all chosen to work with what I'm wearing that week . I just got a pedi a couple of days ago and I currently have a cobalt blue polish. I rarely do colored polish on my hands — it never seems to last long and my nails grow quickly. I’m kinda hard on my hands. I do use a strengthening clear coat on my nails every so often. But I was just thinking about getting a manicure next week, just for fun. I would probably not match my toes. I’m not big on matchy-matchy these days but I think it’s all good! Star (Lise) on "Mani and Pedi" https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/mani-and-pedi#post-2387306 Wed, 04 Jun 2025 10:08:01 +0000 Star (Lise) 2387306@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ Hello Fabbers Summer is finally here on the Black Sea.   Yay!   In anticipation I painted my toe nails in a light brown-ish colour to work with my preferred earthy palette for this summer.  For many years I have not worn paint on my finger nails as they were very yellow-ish.  So now that they are all bright and pretty I feel like paint again :).  I definitely will always use a base coat going forward although I am not sure that really helps in the long run.  My question is do you guys wear the same colour on your toes and finger nails, or do you wear different but co-ordinating colours?  Just curious as I have never worn the same but am tempted.  Maybe it is 'old fashioned', I think that was the trend in the 70s although not sure about that.  Please share your preferences and/or wether you paint or not.
