I've tried most of the ones mentioned here (though not YSL), but the one I like best is the yellow color corrector from Physicians Formula. Though it's in stick form, I apply it with a good concealer brush and set with translucent powder.
Good luck - you'll find one that works for you.

Thanks Scarlet! I tried a bunch of creams a couple of years ago, mostly from the drugstore. I don't remember which ones though and I never stuck with them so I am not surprised that I did not find them effective. Is there one you like?

Elpgal, it's definitely available here
http://www.bluemercury.com/Con.....-Fluid.asp
But I don't know about the colors because my skin is very fair. I think Laura Mercier is a good product but it is much heavier, so it depends what you want. I did not have good luck with Touché Éclat, but I guess most people do. It makes my skin dry out or something and look crinkly. I noticed that some eye creams do seem to reduce undereye puffiness or circles. I don't know if you have tried something like that.

I'm another who has tried many many under eye concealors (you name it, I've tried it) and my favorite is from MAC. I forget the name, but its their newest one and comes in a little pump bottle. It doesn't settle into creases, covers well and lasts all day. If you go to a MAC counter they can match your shade.

Stila's Perfecting Concealer has always worked really well for me... and if I remember correctly, it comes in a pretty good range of shades. Also, I agree about using a brush when applying... it makes a huge difference.

Loreal does a version of the Touche Eclat- it's called Touche Magique. Cheaper and does as good (if not better) a job.

I also have very dark circles under my eyes, and have my whole life. Additionally, the skin under my eyes is very dry, so it has a wrinkled look, although there aren't actually wrinkles there. This means I have major issues with caking.

I have tried dozens of concealers, and the only one that I like is Smashbox High Definition Concealer. You can get it at Sephora.

I think I might have to try the YSL concealer after seeing all of these recommendations!

Thank you to all those who replied. I'll give these brands a try and report back.

Scarlet, Do you know if this brand is available in the US?

Auburn, What sort of powder should I look for? Will mineral foundation suffice?

AJ, I never used makeup until recently but figured I would give it a honest try. My routine is very bare-bones. I use the concealer under the eye and lightly dab mineral makeup foundation over the face and finish with some lip balm.

I have tried many; the only one that works is YSL touche eclat. Really. All the others cake, flake, and get into the fine lines. It may seem expensive but one tube lasts about 4-5 months with my everyday use. BTW I too tried the primer after a recommendation at Sephora. I hated it! Took it back--bought the YSL stuff I just mentioned. I've been using this since my 50th birthday, In two weeks--55!

I'm a Laura Mercier girl. They have undereye concealers in these pots that you apply with a small brush. I find that the brush really helps work the concealer in right up to the lash line but helps prevent transferring all the oils from your fingers. You just sort of "pat" it on. Then, for ANY concealer, the key is setting it with a loose powder. I do this with a brush as well and like Laura Mercier's transluscent powder (no color)--it just sort of fixes the product in place so it doesn't crease up and move on you! Most Sephoras carry the LM line and have small starter kits that you can try!

My favorite concealer is from Clinique. It's their airbrush concealer. Nice coverage, not drying and it doesn't crease on me.

I also like Benefit's boiing industrial-strength concealer. It is more of a matte finish, but more coverage than the Clinique.

Finally, MaryKay has a nice concealer.

My biggest challenge is my under-eye circles and I decided to focus on finding a concealer this month. I went to Sephora several times this month, had a consult each time and returned with samples of several concealers. All of these went on fine but they settle in the fine lines and cakes after a few hours. Per their suggestion, I also tried applying primers before I put on the concealer but that did not help much. It's all very frustrating!

Can you suggest other products that I should try? I am told I have a very typical Indian complexion with 'yellow' undertones and 'medium-tan' coloring.

List of things I've tried:

Concealers:
Make Up For Ever Full cover concealer
Tarte Erase Concealer
Nars Concealer
Sephora Perfecting cover concealer

Primers:
Perfekt Skin Perfection Gel
Make Up For Ever HD Microperfecting Primer

P.S. The under-eye circles are not sleep or allergy related as far as I know. I have had them since childhood.
