This is such a timely question, as I've been eyeing a heavily discounted cream moto jacket. And then thought 'wait, the cleaning...'

I am really hard on clothing somehow, so even my brown moto got grimy around the collar. I tried to polish it like shoes, with saddle soap— but accidentally used black polish instead. Stained something awful! But my professional dry cleaner is a miracle worker and was able to salvage it by sorta dying it a darker brown.

I had blush and cream motos - never needed to be cleaned and I traveled with them. You can wipe them down with a wipe.

This is such valuable information. I didn't even know this was a question in my life until just this minute. I'll be buying Burt's Bee's wipes this weekend.

Like jlpp I use gentle soap for sensitive skin to clean my light colored leather goods (a white handbag, a blush handbag, an offwhite jacket, and a white couch). I usually clean them as soon as I see a spot on them and condition the leather maybe once a year. Good quality leather seems to be rather resilient to stain : for example the white couch is more than 15 years old and is still white despite being used everyday.
I think suede may be harder to clean though.

I use a Burt’s Bees wipe for sensitive skin because they have less ingredients & are gentle and wipe maybe every fifth wear unless I know I got something on it & need to wipe immediately. I condition the leather about every 10th wear. I also pretreat with a leather protectant spray.

This is why I like a good quality faux leather for light costs and jackets. They just clean with a damp cloth. On this one, you may also be concerned about the belt getting grubby. You might try wiping the cuffs and collar, maybe belt front, after each wear with leather cleaner on a soft cloth.

I'm loving this oversized leather moto in ivory. I've taken it to the leather cleaners for their input, and I'm still worried about me getting the sleeve cuffs grimy through [my version of] normal wear. What do you do for your light colored leathers, for home care?

Expanding the question to include this suede jacket I've got my eye on.

Thank you!
