I buy the dirt cheap Primark ones for £1 or something (about US$1.50 including tax!) and they work splendidly.

I hada gifted pair a couple of years ago. They did not work for me but technology is probably better. Also, just my fingers don't often work in winter so I can't really blame the gloves. My hands get cold and dry.

Hopefully they are on order. I am still waiting these 4 hours later for an email confirmation of my order. My bad for not creating an account, I guess, but geez Louise, how many accounts do I need?

I've experimented with adding e-tips to the thumb of handknit mittens with conductive thread. It was somewhat successful, although I think I didn't quite put the pads in the right place so I have to kind of roll my finger around a bit to get them to engage. It does work though.

I did it by embroidering a little pad on the thumbs of some mittens with conductive thread, although another method is to knit the thread straight into the fingertips of the gloves. (I think this would eliminate the placement issue I had, although I've read that embroidering results in a more conductive material, because you can use the thread more densely).

I bought the conductive thread on Etsy. You can get it from lots of places, but Etsy had sellers that sold small quantities rather than an enormous spool.

ETA: Here's a tutorial:
http://www.blogher.com/diy-tec.....ive-thread

I use them. I have a cheapo pair from Old Navy last year and just bought a thicker pair at Costco the other day. Surprisingly, they do work!

I've been whinging on about updating daily needs. I just ordered a pair of gloves that are supposed to work with electronic touch screens like phones. They were only $5, so I'm not expecting much. Anyone use these? Do they work?
