Thanks for trying, Barbara Diane. You at least have that satisfaction, and I'm glad you were discerning about fit. I WANT you to be. NEXT.

Suz, the pattern and its placement IS an acquired taste - I learned here on YLF. I also LOVED it right away. I adore the asymmetry of it actually, which I think makes the dress look more interesting,

That’s a bummer it didn’t work out but you gave it a darn good try. On to the next fab dress.

Suz, I LOVE the dress on you. It made me smile. Thanks for your comments.

I think Angie mentioned the pattern being an acquired taste after my previous review :).

It just wasn’t JFE on me. Your observation about size verses shape is right on. It was totally my body type AND my lumps and bumps. I noticed that the plus size model’s hips are smaller than mine.

I still think it’s a nice dress, just not for me.

Glad for the review. Thank you for your persistence and I am sorry it led to disappointment. However, better to send back now than later!

It all comes down to body shape vs. size. Size seems not so relevant to me. It is the body shape, proportions, and modifiers. Also, Angie did mention that the pattern seemed an acquired taste. I liked it instantly but I have seen patterns that I felt very differently about and can understand what she means.

I think it is a nice dress. Suz looks fabulous in it. But for me...(update from my earlier review of my first shipment)

I really wanted to want it. It’s Angie’s top pick. It came in both her size and my size. It feels so good, so comfortable on. It had so many things going for it.

I tried hard. Ordered it in one size. Ordered it again in that same size (different pattern placement) and another size up. Considered having it altered. Crowning blow-the side view. The ruching did me no favors. The extra material did me no favors. Where the ruching ended and the skirt started accentuated the bumps above my hip dips. (Alterations were possible to correct this.) No skin in the neckline to break up the pattern.

It was a relief to return all 3 today. Hopefully they will go to a good home, to someone who has been stalking them.

(Angie, thanks for the words of encouragement. Lightweight shape wear wouldn’t make enough of a difference, nor would going up another size.)
