I also love Betty's style. She wears some full skirts that seem effortless, cool and pretty.

This shirt and skirt combo are amazing.

I'm a big fan of nerd-cool kick-ass Peggy Olson. Sometimes fabulous, sometimes terrible, always outside-the-box. Even when she gets it wrong she looks like she's dressing true to herself rather than an idea of how the world wants her to look. Bold prints, pattern mixing, high contrast, menswear details and far too much yellow. Who else can pull off plaid with polka dots?

And I loved seeing Don in classic double denim in the finale. He's never looked so Jack Kerouac.

The ending made my heart sink and sing. TLo's Mad Style is making me cry today.

Mad Men is AN ABSOLUTE VISUAL FEAST. Nothing beats that aspect of it.

Before Betty divorced Don, I liked what she wore best. I liked what Megan wore best as the show went on. Don looked the same for 10 years - always top notch. And he looks much better when he does not smile.

Not my favourite, except in a cringe way, but I was fascinated by how accurately the series depicted the infantile, little-girl looks, worn by Meredith and Megan, that were popular in the late sixties and early seventies. It was the horrible underside of the "mod", mini-skirted looks that everyone thinks were typical for that era.

Just as women were trying to be taken seriously and be considered equals in the workplace, these were the fashions we were expected to wear to look trendy--outfits from the closet of a five-year-old. Is it any wonder most of us dived into those skirted suits and pussycat bow blouses with relief when John Molloy offered them as an alternative. The Mad Men designers totally nailed that aspect of the seventies and made me realize why I became so devoted to assessing all of my work clothes through the lens of "what does this say of my competence and professionalism" after living through it first-hand.

ETA: and waving at Linda--another Tom and Lorenzo fan here!! Their recaps and assessments are the wittiest, funnniest, but most insightful, analyses on the web, in my opinion.

I never watched the show, but I followed the reviews on tomandlorenzo.com. They not only recapped the shows, but did extensive analysis on the wardrobe selection. Really good stuff - check it out if you have time, but you may get sucked into hours and hours of reading when you should be working instead. Not that I've ever done that.

There is a lot to love about the fashion on Mad Men - I'm probably a combination of Peggy and Joan depending on the day.

My favorite series ever. I grew up in that era, and having always been a student and observer of fashion, I think that the clothing , (and interiors) were perfect. I loved the way Joan stayed true to her style throughout. Peggy evolved as her character did, in the end, looking like a " bad ass" Mary Tyler Moore. Betty reminded me of some of my friends' mothers, former sorority girl turned suburban housewife...Trudy was a slightly younger version of Betty. I loved the series. I watched it every Sunday it was on, and sometimes stayed up to watch the second showing of the episode at 11. Every time I re-watch an episode I get something else out of it. Oh! And do you find that some of the actors look better in their characters than they do in contemporary photos. January Jones, Christina Hendricks, and Jon Hamm. Although Jon Hamm looks great always.

Loved Mad Men (but finished the fifth series, only) and even had a crush on Don's style-which you are so right! It's all about his perfect attitude and and always perfect posture (not to speak about the perfect fit-)) -but his character steals the show anyway!

I'm also intrigued how Cristina Hendricks dresses in real life...I just don't get it, but guess it's a big challenge and pressure to be a star.

I am not sure which one I am like, maybe more Peggy, experimenting with the looks, and sometimes really nailing it, at other times missing the mark. She found her feet towards the end in smart fitted work wear and a bob that really suited her. I loved her character and was pleased she ended up in a good place!!

I admired many of the styles - early Betty when she wore her riding gear or those stunning early 1960s dresses, Joan's office wear, Don's hairstyle and hat, Roger's three piece suits......

I liked the ending, it was ambiguous, but not too much so. I am sad that the show ended too!!

Oh, guys, I don't know if you watched the show but it just ended :(

I don't know if this has been done before, but what about a bit of Mad Men fashion talk to honour the show?

I'll start:

I think if I gained weight, I would have a similar body type than Joan. She's and 8 shape, according to the InsideOutStyle article "What's your Mad Men character?" . I like the office outfits of Joan, how she dresses enhancing her waist but without having her boobs at her neck (contrary to how Cristina Hendricks dresses in real life pic 8). I get some ideas from Joan.

But who I really, really LOVE is Don Draper. Oh god, If only I could elude such coolness. That's it. I like her effortless yet sharp and clean looks. I'm really tempted to start wearing men suits, or at least some masculine looks. He actually has a bit of a preppy style in his more casual outfits and I'm nothing like that... But I think Don Draper's style is more about the attitude. And the perfect fitting.

Stan Rizzo was so fun! I liked that he was one of the men that experimented with fashion the most. He changed so much and represented the changes in fashion of the 60's. I would probably be more of a Stan Rizzo than a Don Draper. Oh, right, but I'm a woman. The female equivalent of Stan Rizzo is Megan Draper, I think. Young and changing styles. But I'm not crazy about her character so I won't talk about her too much.

Your turn!
