I don't remember the first three Mad Maxes so I went to see the new one as a blank slate. Wow, what a ride! I LOVED it. In contrast to Aziraphale, I was OVERwhelmed and I really felt for the characters. I didn't have high expectations going in, so perhaps this was to my advantage.
I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did!

I was very inspired by the clothes in the later Harry Potter movies. #6 and #7pt1 were total eye candy for me.

Probably The Matrix. I wore a long black leather coat (that almost certainly didn't suit me) for years after that. ;-)

I just saw the new Mad Max on Sunday. I was underwhelmed, although that may be because the pre-release Tomatometer was giving it something like 97%, so my expectations may have been too high. Visually it was beautiful, but it was one long, relentless car chase, with not enough dialogue to get to understand (and thus root for) any of the characters.

Donnat-the historical aspect of the clothing is done so accurately. I loved the clothing that Merile Streep wore Espically the coats and bags.

Hey Ledonna, my daughter did that with desperately seeking susan, it was already old when she seen it, but she was smitten.
As for me, I think Dowton Abbey, and the devil wore prada.

@ Rachylou that name Snake Plissken is just so kick butt. I'm feeling Blade Runner, Rear Window Alfred Hitchcock created an amazing body of work. He knew how to ratchet the tension and the clothing amazing. Marie Antoinette the period Costumes reminded me of the movie Amadeus.

@ Alaskagirl alright for the Mad Max. Are you going to see the latest incarnation? The costumes in the Matrix were everything. I remember I found a wool floor length black coat with mandarin collar at the thrift. Loved that coat literally wore it to pieces.

When I was growing up one of my favorite events would be to go the movies as a family unit. No matter where we were in the world the movies would remind me of home.

One of the first movies I remember seeing was Mad Max and Thunderdome. This Post Apocalyptic movie would lay the foundation of parts of my fashion style.

Other movies like Dune, Escape From New York, Conan the Barbarian, Tron, and the Running Man would feed my fashion need. I remember vowing to my dad at 10yrs old that I would dress like this when I became an adult.

I am so looking forward to the new Mad Max Fury Road Movie.

So, if you want to answer the question feel free.

What movie or movies have had the biggest fashiion influence on your fashion life and why?

As always thanks in advance.
