Thanks for your suggestions! Just fyi, I called them and the price adjustment period is indeed 10 business days. The rep on the phone kept repeating it like a broken record. I'll try taking it to the store but I don't think I'd go the whole nine yards ordering another one... it wouldn't solve the economic crisis anyway.

Marianne, I think it depends on what state you live in. I know MA has a state mandate that a store has to honor a lower price if the price change occurred in a 30 day period. So, basically you have 30 days to request a price adustment. Maybe that's why Macy's site doesn't give a definitive answer--because it would depend on where you live. I'd call your local Macy's and ask them over the phone first--save you a trip.

I'd take it back to stores first, Marianne. Give the price adjustment a bash.

You could return the trench and repurchase it then and there at the reduced price. I have friends that have done this successfully.

Is anyone familiar with Macy's price adjustment process? I noticed that the coat I bought online about 3 weeks ago went on sale. I couldn't find any conclusive info - some places say 10 or 14 days. I still have the tags on because the weather has been warm and I didn't have an opportunity to wear it, so I could return it and order another one online - it's just a lot of legwork. Would they do a price adjustment over the phone or would I have to bring it to the store? Any advice?

Thanks!
