Smittie: I hope other people weigh in here. I have always thought the same as you in this regard-- had never considered wearing a leather moto indoors until this eye-opening thread.
I would love to know what weight leather/suede jackets people find comfortable wearing indoors.

Brie : I totally understand reallocating budget to other things. You can't have it all, so picking the best of the best is well, always best :)
The thing I dont understand is: Can you wear a thin moto jacket indoors?
I have a lightweight Moto and felt weird wearing it indoors. I opted for this thicker Moto for a better range of outdoor wear.

I hope I'm not too crazy!

Thank you, Angie, and everyone. I will probably pass on this jacket as I have already found a few things at NAS that fill other wants/needs. After thinking about the comments on this thread, I'm betting that in general a lighter jacket would be more versatile, which is a priority for me at this point and time; I'm also guessing that I am too stocky for this jacket's slim fit. Of course if it showed up at my store I'd run out and try it on....

I echo what Suz said.

It's a STUNNING jacket, but very heavy. Too heavy to wear indoors. Runs small.

Colette: Good to know it is dream worthy, and a good reminder to think about fit preferences with something like this.

Muffin: I know! I am admiring from afar.

Suz: Good point about indoor/outdoor weight. Having never owned something like this I don't have a frame of reference of what I would end up wanting/wearing more.

OMG, I LOVE it on you, Smittie. No wonder you exchanged for the TT and puffer. This is fantastic.

I loved it on you, too, Colette.

Angie said on one thread or another that it is an amazing jacket. She is a BIG fan of Mackage. I think perhaps it's the type of leather that it is -- very much an outdoor jacket -- that may have given her pause for a Top Pick, knowing as she does that many clients need a soft jacket they can wear indoors.

I have to say, seeing it here, I'm sorely tempted myself, even though I know I would have very few times/ places to wear it and on the whole I prefer softer/ lighter leather jackets.

I adore the neck of this one, and its sturdiness means it will simply develop a patina over time. It will never, ever date. It's a fabulous piece that a woman might have in her closet for 30 years.

I love this jacket so much, I'm still dreaming about it. In the picture I am wearing a S and I feel it is a slim fit all over. I would only wear this as fall/spring outerwear jacket over a light to medium weight sweater so I would probably buy the S. (But I didn't try the M to compare.) True Fit also recommend I buy the S. Obviously smittie sized up to a M to wear a chunky sweater. And it looks great, I think because of the slim fit. But, as I learned in smittie's post about fit on the TT and TNF coats, everyone has a different fit preference even though they technically are the same size.

Thank you for the fit information, that's very very helpful.

It sold out here very quickly and only recently have a few sizes popped back up.

Well, I bought it :)
I got it in a medium for layering with my thickest sweaters. I have another one in this brand and I chose an XS as I liked the fit of the shoulders, but I don't like to wear it closed because it is quite tight in the tummy. They're also cut with tight arms (which I like, but many don't).

With this medium, I'm going to wear it closed. You can see in the pics that the shoulders are slightly big on me. I have 15" wide shoulders, 29" waist.

I would say their size chart is bang on.

I found the arm length average and it is not overly cropped.

Maybe Angie thinks it's too expensive for what it is? Maybe it's not good value? I'm not sure. I was Ok with the price. It's possible I feel more positively about this brand than I should because it's Canadian.

But Brie. It's going to sell out. I tried to get it in a small, and there were 3 left in Ottawa on saturday and they were all gone by yesterday. There was one left in Vancouver and another one in Calgary yesterday, but gone today.

On the other hand, the Mackage brand is more well known in Canada (ay least I *think* so) so maybe it sells out faster here. Not sure.

I have been eyeing this jacket since day one. I think only Colette has tried it on and posted a photo (and made me want it more ? In any case I would love some feedback on how it fits. I know other jackets were chosen as top picks - maybe it's long in the arms or short in the torso?-one of the photos of the model the body looks suspiciously short. I don't own a leather jacket or a vegan version or anything like that and I do own a Theory cloth moto/jacket that has a sort of short funnel neck when closed that looks very much like this one and I love that moto.
