I think a cropped pant like this needs at least a bit of a heel. I'd wear these with skinnies or ponte pants.

gail and smittie: Thank you for your help as well. I think the pants are covering a lot of the boot shaft. I'm starting to think I need to have shorter pants

I would add a photo of the shoes themselves but can't get it to upload.

rachylou and always trying: Thank you for your help. I just tried them with the one pair of skinnies I bought recently (which I have been wearing with knee high boots). I don't see how I could make that work for my body type, but again that's another new silhouette for me...

Oh this pant/boot combo looks good to me. As long as the pants look like they're covering the boot a bit, I think it's fine.
Both boots and pants look great, and very stylish!

With this shaft height I wear skinnies long enough or rolled to just enough length to not show leg. With the crops I like to show some leg, so I wear ankle booties or sneakers. But that is just what I like best on me. I have 2 pairs of this shaft height boots sand wear them a lot in colder weather.

so I would wear your boots with skinnies only. Nice boots!

Good question... I'd probably wear them with skinny skinny pants...

I think that a boot with a higher shaft would work a little better , that way the top of the boot would be under the hem of the jean.

I am new to cropped jeans and ankle boots and especially both together. I have admired the cropped jeans with booties that have higher block heels here on YLF -- and they are stunning -- but am not so sure about these low heeled ones. I know the baggy jeans aren't doing me any favors (I am still looking for a pair of dark denim crops) but was just trying to figure out proportions. If not crops then when would you wear this style of shoe? Thanks in advance for helping me up the learning curve.
