Lantana - that's a good idea. I haven't tried much out of the city centre - that's the other side of the city from where I live but it is a good idea. I tend to forget about Burnside because I don't go near there very often.

I DO know Kadina! I actually have been there quite a few times, a friend of mine has family in Tickera and we used to stay with them sometimes during the Kernewek Lowender :)

Finding snake print isn't the problem so much as finding low heels with snake print.

I bought a pair of low heeled pumps this summer in Kadina (I know you"ll know where that is)but they only have a snakeskin vamp. Point is, if I got that much snakeskin in a li'l ole country town I figure, if you keep looking, you''re bound to find what you're after since you're fishing in a bigger pond. Apart from Adelaide, have you tried Burnside Village?

Ideally what I'd love to find is something like this...but an inch lower and half the price:

http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/at.....wordsearch

Of course the world doesn't always work like that *sigh*

Oh - I also have wide-ish feet so prefer rounder toe styles to pointy ones...how fussy am I LOL

Thanks Parsley - I'm a bit iffy about kitten heels - but it's been a while since I've tried them so I should probably try them again. I'll have to do that in a store though I guess.

Good point about price-range. I guess I'd prefer them to be under $175...so that is fairly pricey for me. Size about 8.5-9 Australian - an EU 39 - which would be US8.5-9 I think. It depends on the width a bit.

I don't know whether this heel qualifies as "sturdy", but I can vouch for the quality and comfort of these. You didn't specify your price range, and they are expensive. They run TTS

I'm wanting to round out my shoes for work with a pair of snake print pumps but they must have a sturdy, relatively low heel (preferably 2 inches or less) as I've had one ankle reconstructed.

I'm open to maryjane, t-strap or wedge styles - but I need them to be closed-toe as I sometimes have to be more formal in my workwear.

Any suggestions?

There doesn't seem to be anything like that here in Australia at the moment - the heels are all sky-high or they are open-toe or a ballet-flat.

I've had a bit of a browse online without success but thought I'd see if anyone here had suggestions. I'd also rather buy something someone has experienced that I know is good quality and comfortable and so I know how the sizing runs.
