Having trouble bringing over links, but wanted to suggest Brave Leather (made in Canada) for your new belt! It might be a fashion adventure to check them out in person since they are in your corner of the world.

It sounds like the low buy has been highly successful! Inevitably some items are going to work better or worse then expected - I don't think that can be completely avoided.

You are doing GREAT on the low-buy! It has been a low buy year for me thus far, too -- I have bought 10 items but one was a plain t-shirt. I didn't exactly plan this, and I'm sure my overall numbers will not be as low as yours but considerably lower than my last two years.

That pink jacket might end up surprising you -- my thrifted jackets often become sleeper workhorse items!

Definitely try the fashion tape for the sweater! You could also layer a tank under the sweater....instead of a cami, I mean, and maybe in a contrasting colour or even stripes. I have a light grey sweater with a wide V like that. I wear it with a light grey tank under it, or with a striped tee, or with pure white.

Well done! Love seeing people succeed with low buys - great work.

And def worth trying the fashion tape.

Thrifting bolder less worn pieces is such a good strategy. I love it when it works.

My low buy year is going well too - except I have added quite a lot of activewear and gear. Cycling shorts and top, sneakers, raincoat, outdoor coat, sweatshirt, and a new pair of cycling shorts and a liner that is yet to arrive. All useful and will be well worn but also more stuff.

Angie and Lisa, thank you for the ideas! DD has lots of fashion tape and butt glue in her dance kit, I can try some. I'll play with the camis too!

I saw a " influencer" /blogger show how she used fashion tape on a too-low and open neckline like this. She used the tape to stick the sweater to her skin to keep the top from falling open when she bent over. No idea how realistic this is but it caught my attention as I have this issue too. Layering a camisole is too circa 2000's to me .

I hear you on the white sweater, Helena. Too low for work, which is annoying, despite its elegant silhouette. I bet LOVELY on you! Try wearing it with a black camisole and black pants. Or try a tan camisole and jeans.

Nice that the seafoam cardigan became an unexpected workhorse :)

Excellent job on your low buy year so far! All of your new additions look both thoughtful and versatile. Bravo!

And high five for sage (or seafoam green) I added these colors last year and I adore them, plus they are surprisingly versatile pairing well with most neutrals!

Hi everyone, just a quick mid-year(ish) review of my low-buy 2025. To date, I've made 8 purchases, including one thrifted piece and one accessory, so 6 new clothing pieces (one was a Mother's Day present - the linen pants - so I kind of half-count this haha).

Everything is well on its way to earning workhorse status, with the exception of:

the white sweater, which is too open of a neckline for me, especially at work (this may have been a bad purchase for this reason, time will tell, which is a shame because the fit and drape is otherwise lovely). If it was a narrow v it would be perfect *sigh*. The slightly offwhite colour makes it tricky to match a cami with; my white camis look a little stark. Any suggestions are welcome!

the pink thrifted blazer, which I had zero expectation would be worn frequently (maybe once or twice during the spring is enough - hence why I thrifted it but would not have purchased new in the this particular colour).

On the other hand, the sage cardigan I thought was a wildcard has been something I wore frequently over the last month!

On my radar to purchase over the summer - a new bathing suit and a flat black leather sandal (smart enough for work). I also need to replace my black belt at some point, perhaps with something higher quality, as the one I have was inexpensive and starting to show signs of wear (peeling). None of these are essential but all would prove useful. If the right pieces show up, great! If not, no worries.

All in all, feeling content and like I have plenty to wear.

Thanks for reading xx
