Thanks so much for posting those options Angie!

The Fossil tote is sold out at DSW but I can look elsewhere. That could be a good option.

The "bowling bag" is a bit too small.

The Marc Jacobs is borderline too small but I'll look at it some more. I prefer bags with a single compartment especially when they are small-ish.

The Chinese Laundry one is a good possibility, although the size is not very clear on the L&T site. I also found two other possibilities on L&T shown in finds below (in case anyone else is following this thread). I'm going to order a couple from L&T, I have two stores reasonably close so returns are easy.

Thanks Angie!!!!

Bennett, I tend to agree with you, it seems that most of them have a solid back, as you say, and I'm ok with that as long as the front is predominantly leopard print.

Am I alone in rejecting handbags that don't have the fabulous print/pattern on both sides? It appears that all but one here have a solid black back. So dissapointing!

Thanks Angie!

Ummlila, I agree about leopard looking better when there is not somuch black in it

Gigi, I can TOTALLY relate to what you are saying. Figuring out what you want can be so daunting, plus most people change their style over time so just when you think you have it figured out, you change your mind...:-)

I love it when we learn about what we are really looking for after we have ordered something that didn't work out. What makes me frustrated is when I don't really know what I want, and I end up spending a lot of time trying stuff out trying to get a handle on what I like and don't like. So here's to success on your next attempt!

I like satchels, but I find that leopard works best when it is not so black.

Nothing wrong with being picky. I think you are able to articulate very well what you really want in a leopard bag.

This posting was inspired by Angie’s recent blog posting on leopard bags AND her forum posting on the lesson of the pink suit - http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....jcrew-suit " LISTEN TO YOUR FEELINGS. Don't take the emotion out of your style."

I finally received this leopard bag 3 weeks after I ordered it from Nordstrom Rack. Deliveries from them take a long time as discussed
here http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....rom-rack-1 .

It’s a lovely bag, has that new leather smell, beautiful construction, and I was able to confirm that a leopard bag in this color palette will be a super versatile addition to my wardrobe and go with a LOT. Upon closer examination the following issues made themselves apparent

- I have always worn shoulder bags, not sure why, but a satchel style just feels awkward and fussy to me. I’ve analyzed this over and over and always come back to the same place so I'm going with it. I thought this satchel might work because it has a shoulder strap and the handles fold down. However the shoulder strap attaches on opposite sides rather than on the ends of the bag so it feels very unstable with the shoulder strap on.

- In the find pic it looks like a leopard bag with black leather strips around the leopard print areas. In reality it is a black bag with two leopard patches/pockets on the front and nothing on the back. Too much black, not enough leopard.

So, it’s going back and I will continue the search. No regrets, this bag has confirmed/solidified what I want. I’m looking for a bag around this size, in these colors, that works primarily as a shoulder bag so a
soft satchel with handles that have an 8 or 9” drop would work, and is mostly leopard print. I’m willing to splurge a little to get a good quality one. Nothing on Angie’s posting quite fits this description but I’m very optimistic that I’ll find one to my liking. I love looking at your blog posting Angie, the colors are just so appealing!
