Beth Ann, I agree, I've definitely expanded my options since joining YLF. Thanks for the well wishes for the trip!

Rachylou, get one, get one! :D Enabler here!

Angie, thanks! I just packed something similar for the plane ride home. I'm sensing a formula starting here!

Caro, thanks!

PIl, you saw what I said to Rachylou, right?! Same goes for you!

Adelfa, I hope Beth Ann weighs in. I find that wearing a structured top helps with mine.

Suz, thanks for some more ideas on how to style the skirts. Seriously, they are just as you described, comfy as PJs!

I love my VC skirts and have ordered another one. For me, they are spring/ summer/ early fall skirts only (since I can't wear them with tights underneath -- too clingy). But that is okay -- they are more than earning their keep in my closet. I wore my cobalt one today with a white textured cotton shell and a white denim jacket and sandals.

I wear them with t-shirts, a peplum top, silk tops & shells, linen sweaters, and button downs. I wear them with blazers and jackets and without. I wear them for super casual occasions (today's was a car trip) and I wear them for dressier events - say, out for dinner. They're as comfy as PJs and as easy as jeans.

I wear with sandals and with Cons and with pumps. Love!!

I was wondering about the skirts too. I was worried they would cup the derriere which is not a look I want at work. Beth Ann was the relaxed skirt a size up from your normal?

Sounds like a wonderful travel formula! One of the best things about the forum is to get expert suggestions (from Angie) and then see them play out across the forum on different bodies, different lifestyles. I love my pencils!

Thistle: My current tube skirts aren't the VC, but I tried them on in the Old Orchard store. The Large was really bodycon -- looked good, but bad, if you know what I mean. The extra large was much more relaxed, and I'd have bought them, if I didn't already have 3 similar skirts at home. They are thin jersey, but double layered, which makes a big difference. Suz reported they didn't slide well over tights.

Thistle, I've always favored bodycon looks (to my eye, on my body, they're more flattering than any type of volume, similar to Shannon's skirt thread as of recently) and I live in Latin America where bodycon is taken to another level on a daily basis. So maybe my tolerance is different than yours.

However, I've seen too many posts lately on the forum (not naming any names) of ladies saying their pics in this skirt show that its too tight or too bodycon or not flattering and I just don't see it - at all. We are our own worst critics.

I personally love it for its comfort level (11/10) and versatility. If you're open to it I think you should reconsider. I'm actually pondering buying more versions!

Eliza, thanks! You just gave me more styling ideas!!!!

You are giving me pause. I chalked them up to the not pear flattering camp and didn't look twice. Wondering if I should reconsider . . .

I have the solid black one and the black animal print, which reads more black with irregular white and gray spots to me. I love their comfort and versatility, especially in hot weather. Just flew for a few hours, but didn't risk wearing them due to fears of cool ankles on plane. Comfort-wise, they would have been perfect.

I wear them with knits and sometimes throw on a crisp, white blouse that is not super long and is hemmed straight. I also have linen blazers that are fun with them, as well as the jeans jacket. I have been wearing them with sandals, as it is hot here, but would also try them with pumps, boots and booties, oxfords, "dressy" sneaker styles, etc.

I agree with you; they are very versatile. I find the longer length much less fussy to wear than knee length, so I think of them for more casual settings than I do the shorter ones (not that I wear anything very short at this point).

Glad you are enjoying yours.

I just wanted to give a big thanks to Angie and YLF for opening my eyes to different things I wouldn't normally consider. I bought two of the VC tube skirts and I absolutely LOVE them. I've already worn them several times each. It shocks me that they work so well but they just DO!

I've already road tested one on a trip with 2 flights with total travel time of about 5-6 hours.

I'm about to wear one on an international trip with 2 flights and a total travel time of about 14 hours. I know it will be perfect.

Even DH loved the skirt on me. He likes bodycon looks and this is great, I feel fab wearing it even when I'm heavier than I'd like. Funny how a bodycon look can spark confidence over a voluminous look, at least for me.

No pics but my last wearing paired simple staples for a casual yet pulled together look:
Black VC tube skirt with thin white stripes
Fuschia tshirt
Jag denim jacket (love also)
Metallic flats

Thanks Angie and YLF!

How are you liking yours, for those of you that got the skirt? What kind of things are you wearing with it?
