I haven't watched the video yet but there are pictures in Australian Harper's Bazaar Autumn/Winter supplement currently. I pored over them last night, mesmerised, and could barely stop looking. I've never connected with anything I've seen in a fashion magazine so wholeheartedly.</p> <p>The train theme, the idea of ladies with porters, it just captures my imagination in a way that fits me. The twenties/thirties Orient Express references filtered through an almost 60s psychedelic perspective (with a bit of Streisandish garishness-in-a-good-way), yet with an unnerving hint of futurism. </p> <p>The silhouettes, above all, fill me with happiness. It's as if they took my body and made clothes to more than match, to actually exaggerate its form. Loose fit yet never losing that pear definition. Even the hats - some say oversized cloches - are the only kind I could wear with my big head and the need to create a sense of uplift to balance my bottom half.</p> <p>I should probably read up on what Jonesy cryptically referred to, and lose my illusions about how exciting and wonderful it was/is. Why do the Paris shows seem so dramatic and over the top (in a good way)? Definitely more than NYFW. I think I remember one year Chanel did a whole working carousel in some kind of a winter wonderland theme. </p>
