Thank you all. I do like many of those. They are great ideas. I think my problem is that when I buy a dress, I can picture how it will look with what I have. I have a harder time with shirts.

For example, the first BR top. I love it, but is it too short for jeans? (Angie?) How could that be remedied?

I think the second BR top makes the model look larger than she is. That's my first rule of buying online. If I think the model looks bad in the top, then I know it won't look good on me.

I really like the Ann Taylor top.

I suppose I like the Ann Taylor and the BR tops the best.

Taylor--I'm not such a fan of the traditional button down. I'm looking for something different--blousy, but perhaps not a button-down.

Angie, have you seen any recently that you would so gracious as to share? I seem to do much better with specific ideas. I'm such a lazy shopper.

I'm a woven girl through and through. Think silk-cotton blend blouses instead of button downs. Nice change for Summer. And so breezy.

I have this one, and I'm a huge fan. I like it tucked in to pencil skirts or left out over jeans or shorts. My store has pale blue and pewter pinstripe, and I see that there is solid white and lavender online.

I love woven shirts, but I am the queen of knits. I think the problem is the same that I have with shoes: I am super-picky.

This is definitely the area I need to expand, especially for smart-casual work attire. I wear my knits, but they really don't look very "smart."

Any suggestions? (I tend towards a modern-classic, funky style, but I love elements from other "classic" ears such as the 40's, 50's, early 60's and 70's.
