The white stripe with olive of the pullover under the cardigan really seems to add something special. As Angie said, this looks like a warm fall piece.

That's a beautiful cardigan Susan. Probably too drapey for me personally but I am very short. I love my lightweight jumpers and jackets and they work so well for spring and autumn .

Karen13, you're absolutely right! Absolutely a knit, not woven . . . . a serious brain cramp there but I went back and edited it. Thanks also for your vote . . . think this cardi is going to end up "following me home"!

Oh gosh, Angie, you certainly don't have a neutral wardrobe but I can see how my post read that way (went back and edited it for clarity). My only neutrals to this point have been black and denim but I'm working on expanding my horizons. The challenge now is to not end up with a number of disparate pieces. I'm on travel right now, visiting my parents, and in packing for this trip realized I need to work on capsules . . . think that's a completely different post and I may need to bring in professional help

Susan, I don't have a neutral wardrobe - or were you perhaps referring to the neutral part of the capsule in todays' post? Nice cardi. Warm Fall.

I think that would work well for fall in a temperate climate. But I don't think it is woven - the shoulder and placket seam detailing and ribbed pockets and cuffs look knit to me. So double check if you want woven.

Aquamarine, I TOTALLY agree on the bright white . . . my favorite go-to, much to the chagrin of my non-color phobic friends!! I live in Virginia so weather can be somewhat temperate in the winter months (definitely in fall) and I think the cardigan would be fine under a coat. Oh ya, it's 100% linen, so great texture. I don't recall ever having had a linen knit item so not sure how it'll hold its shape . . . does it stretch like cotton knits? I can SO see this with black pants . . . black being my other go-to

This looks to me like it would be fine in a winter/fall capsule, but of course it depends on where you live and your tolerance for hot/cold. I can't quite tell the material but it looks versatile...that is, neither heavy nor light.

I agree a cardigan would be a good way to incorporate olive in your wardrobe, since you could brighten it up with a brighter color underneath (for me, a bright white would do the trick).

Since Angie's first post about the addition of olive items as a new neutral in her wardrobe I've been warming up to the concept. And then at just about the same time I saw this sweater at Talbots. It was during the latter part of the summer . . . I definitely liked it, but didn't buy it.
Since then I've tried on a few olive items for fall. I still like the idea of integrating the color but have determined that it's not great with my coloring when worn really close to my face say in a pullover sweater, turtleneck or blouse.
It was after this morning's post I remembered seeing this long cardigan! I really like this style on me, and love the texture of this sweater, but am wondering if it's fall/winter material (literally and figuratively )
Thanks in advance for your input.
