I have been frequenting Nordstroms for new Fidji styles and finally asked how come we don't see any on the floor. The SA told me they will no longer be carrying them at least not in the near future. Still available on line, I raced home and decided to order the pairs I've been eyeing for awhile. Love the style and color, but for me these would be more pants shoes than skirt shoes (not that I'm saying these cannot be worn with skirts; just not really by me for some reason.) I think it's the high vamp in combination with a lower heel that makes it so for me. (I'm also not one of those funky gals who wear flat oxfords with skirts. But I'll try. </p> <p>I think one reason we are not seeing many lighter shoes is that for our winters, they are very difficult. (At least where I live). And people tend to wear darker toned skirts. So manufacturers stick more to darker toned shoes for winter as a result. </p> <p>I have seen quite a few light tan or taupe super casual boots this year. I love some of these, though I think none meets all my criteria, which I know are hard. And I hadn’t even mentioned that I don’t want suede! (I like suede, but it’s just not for me – I trash it too easily, and in a light color that would be an even bigger issue. I learned to stay away.)</p> <p>3 ½ inch heels are too high for me, which rules out the Pilar Abris and (sadly!!) the Seychelles (oh they are so cute!). I like the ECCOs, but Suz you are right in that I bet the ankle gapping would be an issue for me. Also, they are just a little bit “plain”, though very sleek. The Fidji ones are super, but yes, lower heeled than I want (I think. I might go try them anyway!)</p> <p>Oh, and Suz, I wear nude colored hose with such shoes.
