I had picked up a dark denim one from Target and a white denim from ON. Love the white and wore it everywhere, but couldn't get used to the Target one. I just returned it and got the dark from ON. I really like the cut and feel of it, not bad for $20!

Thank you everyone, if any other suggestions come to you please post them in case the one I ordered doesn't work. Stopped by the E. Bauer and altho they only had the white denim jkt. I was able to try it on for size info. San - it does run big just like you posted so went down a size. The store was still full price but they matched the on line price and altho I had to pay shipping there was no sales tax since it was shipped from another state. Hope it fits and looks OK. Otherwise it will be going back.

I just got one at Nordstrom's a couple of weeks ago when I shopped with Angie. It fits great and was not outragously expensive. I think it was under $100.
I previously ordered the Eddie Bauer denim jacket and even the small was too big for me so I sent it back.
Look in the TBD dept at Nordy's or maybe if you searched the website you could find one like I got, which I love. The lable says Coturra brand. It is not especially dark, a little faded.
Good luck. I searched forever it seems for a denim jacket. I like the Martin and Osa but the price is high and I didn't know for sure if I wanted one that was so shrunken.

I found a long list of stretch denim jackets here

There's a nice white one from the Gap.

If you like embellished items, you might like the Crystal Blossom Denim Jacket.

This looks like a nice basic jacket.

Yeah, I think this is more of a spring item. I'd try the consignment shops, particularly if you are an average size. I bought an adorable blazer-style, super-fitted, cropped Levi's jacket at consignment a few months ago for a song. Just be sure to shop carefully - you don't want a 10 year old jacket, and you will see a lot of those. You can always have the jacket altered (worth the $ if you find something for cheap).

I did recently purchase two jackets at Old Navy: I got a size XSpetite and a size 14 children's. I am keeping the children's and the petite is going back. It was too long for skirts and I do have to say there was something "off" about it - hard to explain, I actually think the buttons aren't lined up properly! Poor manufacturing. What do you expect for $20, I guess.

When spring rolls around, or if you shop consignment, I'd check out Jcrew, Gap, Old Navy, and Levi's.

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately the E. Bauer one is sold out on line and my small store here in our area didn't get it at all (just called the store). It looks just like what I was hoping to find. I figured they would be a fall item but the clerk at JCrew in Indianapolis said its a spring item for them so they will not be getting any more. Do you think this is accurate? As I said, it seems more like a fall item to me too.

You might wait a little ... fall clothes will be in stores by the beginning of August and I'm betting demin jackets will be everywhere.

But here's a link to a nice-looking denim jacket:

You might try consignment shops for more variety. I found a completely dark denim (even the stitching) JCrew classic jean jacket with some stretch at one for about $20. Of course it's hit or miss but worth a try. I also have a Gap version which is more casual and both get lots of use.

I have decided to replace my old Gap denim jacket with the YLF recommended denim jacket with stretch. I have searched and searched and no luck. JCrew had only one style and I didn't like the double stiching down the front nor the placement of the top pockets, it almost looked "western". The only other option I have found under $125.00 is the Old Navy one which might work but at least wanted more than style to try on. Have looked on line at the usual stores like Gap (they do not have one on their site, hard to believe), B. Republic, Martin and Osa, etc. Any suggestions?
