I know that any cheap garment I buy is likely to sag or stretch or pill faster than a higher-end one, but is there any difference, say, between buying a $18 Target sweater or $26 Loft one or a Would I do better to steer clear of cheap cotton and pick synthetics, or the other way around? Who makes the best inexpensive things? </p> <p>While I'd love to buy $300 merino garments that would last for decades, I can't quite afford it at this stage of life.
