Good luck finding the perfect pair. I had a pair of black trousers very much like this in 1990. They were high waisted, which is still better for me, with a button cross closure. I called them my flying squirrel pants and I tucked them into suede booties. I miss them. It was with a ribbon tie that went through tiny fiddly little belt loops (in addition to the regular belt loops, this was, and below those...one could wear a regular belt as well but would have to do them up with the ribbon, too.
