I had been wondering about this as well. I really like the look of the suede High-Ness and, if they are as comfy as they look, I would continue to wear them even if the trend had passed.

The Hi-ness Cons combine the wedged-heel sneaker look, with the sleek style that is so popular for this fall! I highly recommend them - although, I bought the wrong color (white) when I got mine. I just felt too "pure" when I wore them - I'm going to dye mine - either gray or burgandy - haven't decided yet!

I wouldn't be surprised if wedged sneakers become a seasonal basic. Still lots on the catwalks. Very wearable, very mainstream, and no sign of this trend dying.

Aren't the new Hi Ness just fab?!?! I saw the navy ones today at the Bay and swooned. The burgundy looks amazing too!
Note the toe cap is not white, which I like. The listing makes it sound like they have some kind of warmer winter lining, which I didn't notice in store but might make them practical a little longer in colder climates too. But not so good in summer I guess. So, everyone needs *2 pairs*. Yup, I'm an enabler!

I think they're going to be around for quite awhile longer. At least a couple of years, more than enough time to wear out a few pairs. They've already been around a couple of years and are really just hitting Target.

If they are willing to keep making them, they could become a staple. They're very practical impractical footwear.

The Hi-Ness will have way more longevity than the back-to-the-future style. Cons are classics and keep coming back every year, and the wedge doesn't change the overall style of the shoe. I love the wine suede ones linked!

OMG, JULES!!!!!! You enabler, you!!

Una, honestly, my Cons Hi-Ness were the surprise workhorse of my spring/ summer and now fall wardrobe. I had no idea what a high need I had for such a shoe until I owned it. I adore them.

I have never been able to wear regular Cons because of the flatness. These feel sensational on, and are perfect for those interim temps when your feet would be roasting in booties yet it's damp or coolish or just not great for sandals (i.e. every day of the summer, late spring or early fall in Alaska).

I'm no expert, for sure, but I do love mine (Converse hi-ness). I don't know if the trend will wane soon, but I do know that I see all versions of the wedge sneaker in my neck of the woods. I chose the Converse version for 2 reasons - 1) the original is iconic, so that part of the styling will continue to be stylish, and 2) they were quite inexpensive, so that if the trend does fade quickly, I don't feel like I broke the bank to participate. I've already worn them so much this summer that I know I've gotten my money's worth.

I highly recommend the Hi-Ness wedge sneakers from Converse. They are getting scarce; I think they came out in the spring. I have them in charcoal. They are comfortable; I really feel almost like I'm wearing regular Converse. I get compliments on them from males and females ages 16-66. I feel like they "elevate" a simple shorts outfit. I've also worn them with boyfriend jeans and even once with a casual jersey dress - I was feeling daring. I thought about buying another color too, but I do think the trend won't last forever, and by the time I wear these out (Converse are pretty durable), I'll be done. Also, even though they're comfy, they don't have any arch support, so I think I'm going to get some new insoles so I can walk in them for longer periods.

I was wondering about this! You read my mind. I'm thinking specifically about my Hi-ness Cons too like Diana. I would have thought that maybe the Cons would stay as a classic, but the more trend driven higher wedge sneakers would have a shorter shelf life.

I am contemplating a pair of wedge sneakers to make my casual footwear more versatile. I adore my boots and booties but am finding they are not right for certain weekend activities like DS's basketball games in a gym or walks to the park. But I refuse to wear my running shoes as casual footwear.

Do we think wedge sneakers are about to be passé? Or can I get away with them for a while?
