I often pop a folded Le Pliage into the Le Pliage I'm carrying just in case I need the extra space. Works especially well when traveling so all my stuff stays together when I leave a hotel or a plane. </p> <p>I'm currently enamoured with my Le Pliage backpack. I like to have my hands free when moving about so it has become my go-to bag if I'm going for a walk with my friends or spending time exploring small shops in the city. This latter situation led to a funny incident a few months ago. I was exploring a used bookstore and headed towards the vintage/collectible book section. A young guy was at the entrance and told me firmly that backpacks were not permitted in this area. A second clerk--a female--started arguing with him, explaining that my pack wasn't a BACKPACK like those worn by university students, but a type of handbag which was perfectly acceptable (The management obviously realizing no one separates a woman from her handbag! LOL). He wouldn't back down (male pride?) so I just popped out the folded tote inside my pack, unfolded it, inserted the pack into it, put the handle on my forearm, and smiled sweetly.
