Lynn, the best reco for bags with no pockets -- get a bunch of cosmetic bags from the drugstore - clear plastic ones are great - and "create" pockets for yourself! My MIL does this and it's brilliant.

I asked for a small Pliage as a birthday present from my husband a couple of years ago and it was just too small for everyday use. I eventually bought a navy medium one during Nordstrom's anniversary sale. It was the convertible one with a zipper in the middle. When zipped, it is a medium size perfect for everyday. When unzipped, it is a large bag. I used it as carry on when I travelled and it can fit my i-pad, neck pillow, two books, etc, etc. It is really convenient. I like it as it is lightweight. I do wish there are some pockets to divide things up.

I'm a petite person and sometimes think I should carry a bag that is somewhat small to match my size. This never works. Even though I try to control the amount of stuff I carry around, there are days when I need a large bag. I would suggest the larger size.

I bought a small last year (long handle), because after having the large, I thought I needed an every day size. I purchased it, and then returned it also -- I too felt it was too small for me. I tend to gravitate towards large bags though, and I think I just had a bit of claustrophobia. Not only that, but I hated the saggy bag look. On my large one, I don't care, but the smaller one I thought it looked odd.

I ordered the small, thinking it was the large. And was very surprised when I opened the Nordstrom package, lol.

So personally, I found it to be too small. Like Diana said, even without carrying a laptop, I found the small to be too small for my everyday items. Also, it felt funny hanging from my shoulder, kwim?

I don't think it looks too small, I just mean it felt small and not substantial enough for me - both in terms of size and function. And it was a lot of money for something so small and not practical for my life. (But then again, I tend to carry a lot in my pocketbook.)

What do you plan to do with this bag? Do you want to carry it every day? What do you typically carry in your purse? That might help you make your decision.

So I did return it back at the store, thinking I'd exchange it for a Large navy, but then I saw the Planetes and all else was forgotten.

I used to have a large Pliage shoulder bag and now I have a large Planetes. I get large ones because I use them to hold my laptops sometimes (I have a 15" and a 13" macbook and both fit fine in the large longchamp). I personally would find the small size too small, even without the laptop, but I do carry some bulky things like my lunch bag every day inside my purse. If you don't carry much on a regular basis the small should be fine. I don't think it LOOKS too small if that's what you're wondering.

Well, it really depends what you want to carry in it. :-)
I have the large pliage tote and find it a handy size for a tote bag.

Hi fabbers.
I know there are lots of Longchamp bag lovers out there. I just purchased the small Pliage in navy. Wondering if people have found it too small? I am torn.
