I don't mind a cuff on wide trousers, it's a slightly masculine, formal touch and a classic shirt could be a way of playing it up. In any case, I'd try on a few outfits with different tops you already own and regularly wear and see how they match the cuffed trousers. Hope this will help you decide.

I'm a fan of cuffs and would keep them. I think "currency" regarding pants is more a matter of fit and line. High waists and wide legs will trump cuffed/not cuffed. Then again, I ALWAYS have worn wide legs and high waists through thick and thin, literally :-), so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Would the length be different without the cuff? I like cuffs fine, but maybe changing the pant slightly will give you enough push to wear them? Also, you're not the only one who's held onto things a long time without wearing. But there's something that's making you keep them. You should at least wear them once and Then make a decision about their fate.

I guess I'm asking if there is any reason I should keep the cuff. I think they will feel more modern (although perhaps a little plain) without it. In both cases I would wear the pants with a heel.

So you're saying you're not going to wear them with the cuff? Is this because you have to wear them with a heel?
If so, I would cut off the cuff and wear the pants, or keep the cuff but find a way to shorten the pants so that you wear them.
Good luck!
I really like the pants you posted but I think with those ones, the pleat down the front really is a major design detail.

Hi everyone! I just dug a pair of trousers out of my goodwill bag, lol. I bought them on sale, over 7 years ago, and I've never worn them <hangs head in shame>. Anyway, They are a light cream color and the leg is fairly wide all the way down to the bottom where there is a 1 1/2 inch cuff. For a visual I am including a pair of Milly pants that I was drooling over the other night. My pair isn't as chic, no seaming down the leg and not quite as wide at the bottom, and the material is not as flowy, but it can give you an idea (or maybe not as that's a lot of differences.. ;)

Anyway, imagine these pants with a cuff at the bottom. Would you take it off? My knee-jerk reaction is to lop it off, but I'm afraid women's cuffed pants are right around the corner and I'll regret it. Of course this is me totally overanalyzing things as 1) if I ditch the cuff I will at least wear the pants 2) by the time I see a lot of longer wide pants with cuffs out there I will have spilled something on this pair...

Thoughts?
