I also say have some fun at Zara, but not toooo much fun because, well, the quality is so hit and miss It might be worth noting 2 or 3 items that you really want, while saving up, and then if the perfect one comes along during the HYS you can snag it. If not, continue saving up for NAS.

You were really wanting some overalls earlier. So maybe if the perfect pair come along, you could make an exception of those. But otherwise, saving fro the half-yearly sale and the NAS makes a ton of sense. AFTER you have fun at Zara, that is.

I second Rae. I, personally, put an amount aside each payroll into my savings account for the two big mid-year sales. I then put aside my "allowance" each pay period and that is all I am allowed to spend each pay period. If there is anything left, I either move it to my savings account or I just roll it into the next pay period.

I make an exception for my year end bonus at work. That, I usually put 90% to responsible stuff like paying off the mortgage, bulking up the emergency fund, replacing a ahted washing machine, whatever. But the remaining 10% is mine to play with (although, I always get DH and DD something with it too).

Definitely have fun at Zara.

May I suggest being flexible here, Anna. You just don't know what you will see at the Half Yearly or NAS - and what you'll be feeling style-wise at that moment. What will tickle your fancy and what won't. It can go in any direction! So spreading your eggs across both baskets is best. Set a monthly budget.

Also, I need to add that you have an absolutely KILLER wardrobe. I can't see anything that Queen Trendiest Of Them All does not have apart from a balloon sleeved top and jacket! And perhaps some dungarees.
I think maybe you're better off setting a budget for each month, and from that take a small percent to set aside even more to have a chunk for NAS and the half yearly sale. That way you don't have to completely quit shopping all year, and you're ready for the big events. Just find the amount that's right for your budget.

So by the time I go to Austin at the end of the month. I'll have a bit socked away for some fun at Zara.
Should I then resume SYC, in order to save for big fun at NAS? But then's there's the Nordstrom Half Yearly sale that I think is in May.
