I used to wear long silk scarves in my ponytails or around my head so the ends hung down my back, but never around my neck with the ends dangling in the back. Looking forward to seeing a photo of a forum member tying like this, it sounds lovely!

Anna, thanks tons, that's a cute look though not quite the one I was thinking of (this one is with a square scarf; the one I'm after is with a narrow long and thin scarf, it's a much "airier" look). But this one is a good one too!

Angie, I'm so glad to hear this. I shall ask you about it next time I see you in RL

Antje, I sometimes wear my scarf like that :). It's effective with short or tied back hair.

YES! This is it. At least now I know I didn't dream this up.

You know, I've tried knotting my (longest softest) scarf in various ways myself, but somehow it just doesn't look quite right. Not like on them models... (But maybe that goes beyond the knots ;-)) I wonder if my scarf is not right for it - maybe it needs to be even skinnier and longer. Well, I shall keep my eyes out for pictures that show it from the side or back, and if it really is a coming trend then maybe there will be more coverage of it and some instructions being published... For now at least I'm glad the look is real and out there. Thank you HelloKitty!

Antje, I did some googling and found that the DKNY Spring 2011 show featured many scarves tied this way...but I cannot find a single picture with a side view! Here is a link that has some good pics from the front though:

http://coquette.blogs.com/coqu.....-nyfw.html

The blogger even says: "This is exactly how I saw the Parisian women wear scarves – sleek with the ties flowing in the back."

Why don't you just fold your scarf so it's sleek and flat against your neck, tie it in the Angie knot, then turn it around?

Yes, it is Turkish. I forwarded it to the forum a while back, LOL! :)

Antje: I sometimes use that style during beach vacations. I have two long silky scarves that I use for it. I think thin and long rectangular style scarves are key.

I just loop them around twice and knot the drapes around both loops in a chunky way. I'll try to take a picture for you tomorrow.

Thanks AJ! Getting closer! Getting excited. The look I'm referring to involves a thinner, slimmer, longr scarf. But that said, the knot might still be the same, not sure. What is the "standard euro knot"? (I don't know many knots, mostly just the Angie knot and I don't think that's the right one in this case.)

I just bookmarked this inspiration photo in my Dec. 2010 issue of Lucky! Is this the look you were thinking of?

I have no idea about how they tied it. How about the standard euro knot?

Oh Bella I'm sure you'd love and rock that look! Let's hope someone knows what I'm talking about. It can't be that complicated, but when I just tried it myself it didn't look right... (I'm rather clumsy and need detailed guidance!)

I am very intrigued by your description Antje. I don't think I've seen anything like it, so I hope other forum members who recognize the style will chime in with pictures.

Okay, this is driving me nuts since I know I've seen pictures of this look in magazines recently, but now I can't find them and my online searches came up with nothing. I'm looking for pictures of and instructions for wrapping a slim oblong scarf once around your neck (tightly, not loosely), tying a knot, and letting it hang down in the back. It's a very glamorous look (especially when worn with a simple classy dress), and in real life I've mostly seen it in France or Italy before (not as a specific season's trend, just at any time in the last decades), but it's popped up in some fashion photos here in the US recently - I just can't remember where. Anyone know the style I'm talking about and knows how to make it look right? I'd love to try it.
