Agreeing with misvee! Anything low value contrast will create the long line, whether that's with shoes or top/topper.

I'd look at darker pewter and bronze colors maybe? Metallics seem pretty useful to go with a lot of different dark bottoms.

Another thought...if your top and bottom are the same colour you’ve already created the long line of colour you’re seeking, so your footwear can be anything you like.

I am short and for a long time, matched shoe color, or hue, to my pants. If I wore tights with a skirt, those matched, too. For most of my life I was a dark brunette, so that worked well.
Now I have much lighter hair and I enjoy bookending, so my shoes often do not match my pants. I often create a column of color by wearing the same color tops and bottoms. At 5’2”, I am never going to look tall, no matter what I wear.

I think there are probably some things you can do with the top half of outfits too... peplum tops that fudge where your waist is a bit, long cardigans/tops, tops close in colour to the jeans... jewellery to keep the eye moving up...

I wear a similar tone to my jeans but not necessarily blue. Brown, grey or pewter are good choices. One more idea not mentioned is to try some tricks like laces or zippers. The vertical line from the laces or a midline zipper draws the eye up and fools your eye into thinking your leg is longer. Take a look at some pictures on Pinterest and hopefully you will see what I mean.

I do the same. Dark blue shoes would be ideal, but lacking those, I usually wear black with dark denim. I also wear a dark top, preferably navy or dark blue.

I have gold/blond hair, so there is no way it creates a long tine of color with trousers.

Hmmm, things to think about!

With dark denim I go with dark shoes. Light denim is a little tricky...with bleached denim I’d go white or at least lighter.
Overall I like a pointed toe, I think it helps create a longer line.

I agree with missvee; low contrast. Imagine pants/jeans and footwear in gray tones like a black'n'white photo. You may also want your hosiery to tone in.

Also, you may want to consider footwear in a brown, metallic, or animal print that bookends with your hair.

And in the event you go high contrast, go ALL OUT. Have the footwear say LOOK AT ME. (No plain unadorned shoes.) That way, no one will notice short legs/long torso. Tee, hee, hee.

I’d pick footwear in a similar depth of colour eg, darker metallic ( pewter or bronze rather than light gold) or darker animal print.

You could go with blue shoes. But also, you could lengthen your leg line by tucking, semi-tucking, cropped tops, etc. But not if you are like me and will not show your belly.

I usually match my shoes to the color trousers I am wearing. I have short legs and a long torso, so I try to make my leg line look longer.

How would you go about getting that long line of color with traditional jeans?
