Especially thanks to SF who offered some good food for thought with a less enthusiastic endorsement than many gave. I have taken a good look at the coat while wearing it a bit around the house (it feels great — not too heavy and not stiff at all), and I feel like the lower stance does work when worn the way I would wear it — I have a few dramatic scarves that easily fill in the space and stay put rather well. It also looks good open since I often leave my coats unfastened when walking around, depending on the weather. </p> <p> I have yet to try it on for my in-house style assistant (my husband) but I expect he will like it. And it will be fun to surprise him with the price of it (he is always impressed with my bargain-scoring abilities). I am cued in to your statement that you say you would prefer a higher stance. To my eye, the stance looks very low. Are you sure you will love wearing this coat? I think the fit is meant to be pretty straight and menswear-ish. It hangs differently on me than on the model because (sigh) hips.</p> <p>I think it will be adequately warm for the kind of wear I would anticipate (scarves really help, and I run warmer than I used to). This one, however, is not that sort of dilemma! &nbsp;It's a SLAM DUNK in my opinion. &nbsp;Looks GORGEOUS on you. &nbsp;The only factor which can't be appreciated with a photo is the "feel" of the coat---is it soft, well made, does it move with you, etc.? I love it, regardless of cost. &nbsp;When the cost is factored in, it's even better. </p>
