Firecracker I totally agree on wanting some variety! We get quite a lot of rain here in NE, most of it fairly hard, and I've been thinking of adding a 3rd waterproof coat or jacket to my collection, esp since I had to retire one of them ( a shorter one from LLB) when the zipper stopped working right. They were able to replace the zipper PULL but not the entire zipper because that would break the waterproof seal on the zipper seams ... didn't fix the problem. The Lole is just not the right one but it is a great coat!

Thanks for this review, Chris! I'm waiting on mine to arrive from NAS. I'm looking at it as a possible replacement for one that I now wear quite a lot. Your Eileen Fisher coat is such a nice color and it seems just right for your warm-weather needs. I don't know about you, but I wear casual rain-ready coats (whether it's raining or not, at the moment) so often that I like some variety. And I still get tired of them--LOL!

Great inputs everyone! Suz that backpack feature did seem great. I have a trip planned for early Sept where I too will need to be taking a raincoat on and off (although probably not as much "on" as London weather) and plan to stuff my existing raincoat into a backpack along with other stuff. The fact that it takes up less room than the Lole one is a plus for that.

I think the cords would absolutely drive some people crazy. I thought they might drive me nuts, because it's the kind of fussy thing I usually don't like -- but they didn't bother me, weirdly enough. Also, I used the cord to tighten and scrunch the sleeves, which I kind of loved -- they could be long or short, depending on how I felt.

And for me, this level of packable was perfect because i need to carry a coat with me and take it on and off during the day when I am travelling, so the little "backpack" feature was a wonderful help.

Thanks for the review! I do find it helpful. I'm actually waiting for two sizes of that raincoat to arrive. One I ordered from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, but it's a size larger than I suspect I will want AND it's in a color I don't love.

After placing that order, I found the size I want in a color I love at Sierra and so I also ordered that. Bonus is that it was much less expensive than even the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale version.

My plan was to return one but now having heard your review, I wonder whether I will keep one after all. Only time will tell!

I tried the Lole packable raincoat that Suz reviewed (and loved) https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....e-raincoat. I decided NOT to keep it for a few specific reasons but thought I'd share my review anyway.

The quality is terrific, the design is really nice. I especially like the curved hem. Overall the style is more interesting than either raincoat I already own. I tried a darker blue, but am showing the find for the teal one so maybe you can see the sleeve feature I'll talk about in a minute.

I'm mostly comparing it to my burgundy Eileen Fisher raincoat which is for warmer temps. In colder weather I wear my Eddie Bauer one with a quilted lining.

So, compared to the EF, the Lole was heavier and bulkier, despite the EF not being sold as "packable". So the EF wins as far as "packable".

I would have to shorten the sleeves on the Lole which would be just a little tricky because they are curved, the EF sleeve length is perfect.

The cinched drawstring on the Lole sleeve is a cool design feature, but the minute I tried it on I realized that it leaves a large loop of fairly stiff bungie cord sticking out from the forearm. That's the sort of thing that could easily get caught in something, especially getting in and out of cars as I do daily. I started thinking I could cut the cord and tie a knot to shorten it, but then I realized that there were too man other "not quite right for me" features, so back it went.

Happy to have learned about this brand!
