Dash,

LOFT did't cancel your order, They just couldn't fulfill it due to probable high volume ordering because of the sale. They most likely had your item in the warehouse at the time of the order , but several hundred orders may have come in at once. I think they allow for some margin of error here, but this has happened to me also....inventory isn't always what numbers in the computer actually are."(

Call 1-800 Dial Ann They can help you locate your items...good luck:)

I don't have any suggestions other than to go back to the store and hope it is there. If it isn't at the store, ask them whether they would have sent it back, so you can keep looking for it online.

I often do what you do, and order something again if it goes on sale, and then return the original. I always wait until the second item comes in, though, because in my experience it will sometimes fit differently or have something else wrong with it that I wasn't expecting. If you can swing doing that in the future, I think it cuts down on unexpected issues.

I do think that it's unfortunate that ATL didn't let you know of this before you received the item. I would take the invitation to e-mail your critiques and I would tell them how disappointed you were not to get notice that your item wasn't shipping. It also can't hurt to call their phone number to see if they might be able to track down your skirt somewhere.

LOFT cancelled one of my items and didn't tell me. I would've cancelled the whole order if I'd known and it's really difficult for me to return things since I sent it to my mail forwarding company.

I've never ordered from Loft before last week and I was amazed that items were disappearing out of my shopping cart while I was still browsing! I didn't take an hour or anything, just looked at the options for long sleeved tops. 2 or maybe even 3 of my first picks vanished before I could get to checkout. And so I hastily ordered what I had left before taking the time to decide left me completely empty carted. My order has not yet arrived, so I don't know what to expect. Sorry I can't help you with your predicament, but know that I understand your frustration! (and there is no store within at least an hour or more of me, so I hope I don't have to go the route you are!) Here's crossing our fingers that your skirt is still in store!!

I placed an online order during F&F which included a suit--the total was hefty but it was 30% off so I didn't feel too bad about it. Then the Black Friday sale went live--it was 40% off and everything I'd ordered was still available, so I re-ordered it, thinking that I would just return the first order (it had had free shipping, so I wasn't out any money by re-ordering). They never, ever do price adjustments despite the constantly fluctuating promos, so this is fairly standard operating procedure for me + LOFT. The first order arrived, and last weekend I took it to my local store to return. So far so good.

This week, the other order arrived, and stapled to the back of my order form is an "oops, one of your items was out of stock, sorry about that" card, with no information indicating what was out of stock--I figured it out after I dug through the box and realized an item was missing before I even found the card.

Very unfortunately, the item that was out of stock was the skirt of the suit I ordered, and I'm not interested in just the jacket. Of course, now the skirt is out of stock online and it's an online exclusive. There's a chance that the one I returned is still at my local store, but if I had known that they weren't planning on fulfilling the skirt order, I obviously would never have returned it. So instead of them sending me an email as soon as they knew that one of my items was out of stock and had to be canceled, I'm stuck calling my local store to see if they still have the one I returned, and if not, I still get to take ANOTHER trip to my local store to return the now-useless-to-me suit jacket. Thanks, guys.

To add insult to injury, my order also included a card from the President of AT, asking me to email "if there's anything we can do better." SIGH. At any rate, if anyone has any suggestions (or if they know something about the likelihood that my skirt might still be at my local store, rather then sent back to central processing due to having been an online exclusive), please send them my way.
