I think they work, yes. So for all the reasons you cite--comfort, getting more mileage out of the shoes and more remix options for your skirts--go for it. The other side of the fence for me is that I really like your oxfords better for this purpose, and so these loafers wouldn't be my first pick. But sometimes second-pick outfits help keep things interesting. </p> <p>I should add that I have a terrible time styling loafers myself, although I am drawn to the style. So my loafer issues are probably coloring my response to yours. I have a pair that pretty much languish in my closet. Yet I won't get rid of them because I still like the look of them, and I figure there will come a time when I will want to wear them. So the other day I put them on for that, when wearing skirt and tights, and thought, wow, these look much better as skirt-flats with tights than they did with trousers.</p> <p>I think it has something to do with the re-birth of &nbsp;loafer in general and especially being shown a lot with skirts, and that they are slim-fitting. &nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;I realize these are not slipper flats, pointy or any particular trending style. I'm not sure&nbsp;I would like them with nude hose—I have&nbsp;a poison eye for&nbsp;the dark loafer/bare leg look on me—but with tights I think they work. </p> <p>Am I on to something, or just wishfully thinking, or re-living the Weejun-70’s? These are so heavenly comfortable that re-mixing them with skirts would really increase my skirt-opportunities.</p>
