The pattern shows up better, though partly that is photo effect. Then I also get what Sveta is saying- if you know you are going to wear a lot of black it is great to add texture and tonal pattern. Maybe I'm no help!<br /> The skirt is fab!<br /> Tops under jackets have been more if a challenge for me for over a year-- fabric weights, fluid fits, dropped shoulders, all hard to layer over. Skirt outfit works beautifully! </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/little-updates-kr#post-1192987 Thu, 13 Mar 2014 02:25:31 +0000 Beth Ann 1192987@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>We're still under a blanket of snow here, and it's so hard to think about spring!&nbsp; Nonetheless, I'm planning on some tweaks to my "Cool Spring" capsule.&nbsp; I found this lightweight sweater at Kohls (Elle).&nbsp; Originally, I purchased the black, but then went back for the cream.&nbsp; As you can see on the cream photo, the front is topped with a tone-on-tone eyelet in a geometric design.&nbsp; It's crisp and interesting.&nbsp; The torso is drapey and slouchy, and the sleeve is close to the arm without being fitted, which I like.&nbsp; While I love the black, I think I need a plain black lightweight sweater or nicely weighted 3/4 sleeve tee for mixing under jackets.&nbsp; The eyelet might be too busy for such a function. <br />&nbsp;<br />At first, I thought the cream would be unflattering to my skin tone, but I actually think it's bright enough to work.&nbsp; I would use the cream to lighten up my spring outfits.&nbsp; I typically wear optic white and brighter colors, so I wonder about mixing cream, rather than white, with cobalt, chambray and raspberry.</p> <p>I know you can't see the pattern on the black -- it was dark and I needed the flash.&nbsp;&nbsp; Would you favor keeping the black or the cream?&nbsp; Or neither?&nbsp; </p> <p>Photo 3 is a bonus pic of my new skirt (more blue in the flowers than shows here).&nbsp; I was determined to wear it on a brutally cold day 2 weeks ago, and I needed the sweater and boots for warmth.&nbsp; I'll like it better with a jacket and booties, but this worked, I think. </p>
