I do a red matt lip on rare special occasions but would never stretch my self this far. Nudes and berry for me. Neon is trending so its worth a try if you can pair it with a good occasion and the right mix of clothing. Crew catalogue models all the time, and I've been thinking I should try some.  It brightens up a monochromatic, neutral outfit. And yes, I've experimented with shades that are out of my comfort zone, with mixed success.  But it's the only way to find out what works for you. If I go more red, I use a sheer lippie (eg cherry tart, a revlon lip butter) which softens the look. The same thing can be achieved by applying a lipstick over a balm. In this case, though, the look relies on a thick shiny application. Why not give it a try?! Have any of you experimented with shades that you'd normally never wear?
