Linen and silk, that would be an interesting fabric to feel.

Chewy, I love that you appreciate the very quality that does not work for some of us and that you actually make the creases before you put the clothes on. It just goes to show how different things work for us and we can teach each other so much.

I live in a hot, NOT tropical climate (desert), and I love linen. It has such a beautiful hand to it. I think the natural wrinkling is adorable- such a quirky property for a fabric to have. I will actually take my linen pieces and ball them up before I put them on (after they are pressed of any true wrinkles), so they have a nice wrinkly hand from the start.

I can't get into linen.. I have enough wrinkles on my face... I don't need to add them with my clothes.
But for those who can rock it, more power to you

I don't usually buy anything that is 100% linen because I don't like the wrinkles even in warm weather but I've had linen/silk blend knits that have been beautiful to wear and linen/cotton blends that are great too. Less wrinkling but the same breathability and nice structure and drape.

I like linen, too, for our hot summers, but it's really only wearable for three months a year here. Agree with Lynne that the creases are less bothersome in hot weather, for some reason. And depending on the quality, the feel of a linen garment can be either horrid scratchy or as soft as a dream.

I once had a really nice linen/rayon blend skirt. The drape was unbelievable, and it was a slightly heavier weight. If I had lived in someplace like Seattle or Vancouver I think I could have worn it most of the year, because it didn't cling and would have been wearable with tights. However, it was still too lightweight for Ontario winters.

:) Team Linen, here, all the way, although I can totally appreciate that it is not everyone's cup of tea. I love the feel of linen, and if the item is loose, I don't mind the creases. It is way more suited to hot, tropical weather, though. And it really needs to be washed and ironed every single wear. So it's not the most practical fabric.

The new Cason jackets in the YLF store are a linen blend, and the sleeves are scrunched. Creases just don't seem to happen on the lined torso of the jacket, and don't show on the scrunched sleeves. I also have a knitted cardi from Bandolera that is a silk and linen blend, which is lovely.

Ornella, I NEVER wear linen. As I recall it was very popular in the 80's so sadly I always think of it as dated And I cannot stand the way it creases (can you guess I don't like ironing?). I don't have one linen item in my wardrobe. I just feel there are so many more comfortable and attractive fabrics available.

It's one or the other with me.

Generally, I find it unsuitable for the climate I currently live in. The creases look so wrong to me, even worse on a grey, dull day. When the clothes wrinkle and lose its original silhouette it makes me feel too self-contentious, so it's a big no.

But in the warm climate it looks to be a good choice. If the day is bright and sunny, it somehow makes the creases look less messy.

Linen mix is ok though, but to some extent.

Am I missing to see the attraction of it? What do you think of linen?
