I buy panties in Saks - they have that Hanky Panky underwear line that is amazing - no lines The lingerie ladies are very helpful but I never bought anything else. I haven’t been to Bloomingdales yet.

I second Brooks Brothers; they will definitely have pants with linings. Pendleton is another brand that will have lined wool pants, though it looks like there is no store in New York city.
Also Saks Fifth Avenue is worth a visit. I shopped there with a friend in New York last fall, and the sales associate was amazing at listening to what my friend was after and pulling lots of options with the specific criteria.

welcome....I'd try Bloomingdales...although this time of year, you are probably going to be challenged on finding lined pants

Jcrew sells talls, but you may need to preorder them and have them shipped to the store that is closest to where you are staying. (and i think even their suiting pants are unlined)

Nordstrom's doesn't have a store in Manhattan, but they do have a personal shopping service with a NYC location

We don’t have a Nordstrom’s in NYC yet. Only the Rack. You could try Macy’s.

Ah, I see. Scapa is Belgian, but Expresso is Dutch, I believe. I love Claudia Sträter too, fab that the cut is now working for you. Cuts and store sizes can indeed change overtime, so it's often work checking back in. I'm holding thumbs for Expresso;-)

Hi Kathie,

I have only been in Nordstrom rack and panicked I’ll look at the other two online right now - thank you!

Hi Inge,

I have to admit to not having been in Expresso recently but last time I tried them the 46 was very wide in the waist and very tight on the thigh. Scapa had the same problem, are they both Belgian?

I was very surprised at Claudia Strater recently, either the cut has changed or I have changed but their 44 trousers now fit me.

I will try Expresso again. Thank you for the tip!

Talbots and Brooks Brothers would be worth a look, as well as Nordstrom’s.

Hi Ashinamsterdam,

Exciting that you can go shopping in NYC soon! I'm sure the other ladies will chime in with good suggestions.

In the meantime: Have you ever tried Expresso? I don't know if they have any lined trousers in their current collection, but the fit might work for you:
https://www.expresso.nl/

hi!

I’m new to the forum, although have been reading the blog for a long time, thank you Angie! I have a very limited wardrobe, because of weight loss and until now wore mostly jeans (NYDJ) which I usually buy on trips to the US even though they are available here the selection is limited . I have trouble finding jeans and trousers brands that will fit comfortably in Amsterdam where I live. There are a few brands that I am lucky with, like Claudia Strater, which is German, but not many others as usually the hip and thigh are cut too narrow. I am blessed in the rear ;)

I have a trip to NYC coming up and would like a heads-up on where to find tailored, lined trousers. I am a US size 12/14 pants size and I am tall, 5’11. Size 10 top so I can shop anywhere for tops. I usually just go straight to Macy’s and stock up on jeans but I’m looking for wool pants, and specifically with a lining. Any brand advice would be appreciated. I checked Ann Taylor’s website but nothing seems to be lined and I really like the lining.

Thanks!
